This could be a bad season for you and our players if you don't move, as Bort said - karma is a bitch.

Yup the devils will be directly hit by this and it will only cause them to get little xp each game while everyone else levels up quick. By playoffs they will be the same level or 1-2 levels higher while everyone else will be 5-6 levels higher.

I retract my previous support of Chase. Bort's idea is way better than hers. Stay in the league guys, that way we ALL can whoop on ya by the end.

They if this rule hits Albuquerque then it will likely hit us. The issue is not that they are so much higher than everyone else. They are only a level or 2 higher than the other top teams.

The issue is how they got there. Bort's rule is intended to punish players that sign with lower teams to get mad EXP and rack up stats. It doesn't address directly the issue of collusion or gutting.

Honestly I don't have a lot of faith in something that isn't even implemented yet on really accomplishing what we hope, but we'll see....

Stromstar, the goal isn't to have a team to beat up on as opposed to one that will beat up on us, but just to get the league balance back to some semblance of what it was.... Albequerque was a decent team last season, but this move has upset the balance.

In all honestly a gutted patsy would disrupt the balance as well, but those of us who had aspirations, of course, prefer it THAT way because it doesn't suddenly throw a wrench into our plans and hopes of competing for a title...

I genuinely believe that what was done by the guys that moved to Albequerque wasn't meant maliciously, but it's also obvious that they weren't thinking about anything else but themselves, but I'll bet if we would have gotten a peek at their old forum we'd have seen a post or two about "whipping up on a BBB league for a season" or something to that effect..... Just guessin'...

People keep thinking this kind of thing is a victimless crime but it effects 15 other teams (at least) with countless players that sink money into this only to get disappointed when other's exploit a loophole in the system that allows crazy shit to happen that upsets the balance... It's the nature of MMOGs unfortunately.

But that is a lot of work for them, and this is easy for them, altohg more annoying for us. However, it is specifically targeting gutters and should hit Albuquerque pretty hard.

Will it? Will the rule be retroactive? If so it will hurt them:

- Signing on a team as a FA where you are above the recommended level along with more than 6 players that just came from the same team as you.

But if not then I don't see it hurting them, because it deals with signings which have already happened in this case.

Besides, the "recommended level" is 8 levels above the median. If only I remembered what median meant...stromstar? Come on math teacher, learn me some maths. What's our median like 11? So they'd need to be 19 or more for it to even affect them, and they didn't get anyone over 18.

Awesomus Prime says, this is awesome! Hopefully it works as intended.

The central measure of tendency most commonly used is the mean. In this case you would add together all the players' levels, and divide by how many players there are. This is the "average" level per player.

Bort said he's gonna use something that will raise the average a little higher, he's going to find the median. To find the median, you order all of the players in the league from smallest to largest, and find what the level is in the middle (there can only be one or two numbers in the middle depending on whether there's an odd or an even amount of players, which means the median will be a whole, or a half).

I believe the 8 level handicap will only effect a few players in our league, I think the avg per player is somewhere around 8, and the median will probably be 10. This means only LvL 18 players will receive less XP (even still, not no XP). For some reason, I thought the sportsmanship score would also lower XP, it won't.

When I made my earlier post, I didn't expect us to pass the devils, or for them to become the whipping boy of the league. Instead, I was just happy about the opportunity for the rest of the league to catch up. Still, I won't edit my comment, because there are 31 teams in this league rooting against the Devils, and I think each of us would love to pull off the blow out upset.

Looks that way, thanks for the heads-up! I posted it to the Mod forum so B,D,&T can see it and recommended they get hit hard with the Sportsmanship Stick. That way, they may have some high level players right now, but good luck ever leveling them.
