Smurfs hope to just have 1 super wok, and once we make the playoffs, we will be better than NBA Jam since they gut and merged after 1 season lol

Anyone judging this based on SuperWok wins is ridiculous. Only the early teams (not nearly as good as modern teams), or the ones who can't hang in WL will have numerous SuperWok appearances.

NBA Jam was p much fail. They had a solid squad, but you cannot mention a team as one of the top franchises if they gut p much immediately after.

Good collection of dots to be sure, but as a franchise it just wasn't happening.

yeah...

the more I think about it, the Jam might not even be in the top 8 or ten.

They were still one of the top franchises.

These other jokers are exactly that - a joke. Any team that promotes one season only to immediately demote multiple times in order to beat up on a Pro league is just pathetic.

As a team, they were no doubt elite.

As a franchise, lolno.

They were still a better built team than these others.

I lol at everyone talking about "OMG MY PLAYER IS SO WELL BUILT".

Great builds doesn't necessarily = great players.

Saigon Whores? NBA Jam?

Top 3 of SEAPL's All-time Franchises? No.

Top 3 of SEAPL's All-Time Trolls? Yes.

There has only been one time the NBA Jam, Garudas, and Whores we're all in the same league together and that was S14. The sphincters of the the Jam and the Whores flapped wildly all season long about how Garuda conference was irrelevant and how the Super Wok Gold was either going to Saigon or NBA. Then reality happened.. The Whores got JAMmed to the tune of 23-50 and failed to even make it to the Super Wok. The triumphant NBA Jam went on to receive a 13-39 spanking by the old veterans of South East Asia - the Krungthep Garudas.

Successful forays into the World League should count in consideration of where a team places on this list, but so should the longevity of a team. It's much harder to keep a team consistently great for 15+ seasons than it is to plan the timing of a single generation of players for their best shot of WL success. NBA Jam had some great players, so has Saigon Whores - but are essentially the same squad as they have always been.

In contrast, the Garudas have taken three different Rosters to the World League, in S13, S15, and S17. A couple of players were holdovers, but most if not all our stars have changed. Have we been one of of the top 16 teams in GLB each season? No, obviously not or else we'd have more seasons in World League on our resume. Have we consistently been one of the best franchises in SEAPL and one of the top 25 teams in the game for the last half dozen seasons? Absolutely.

Talking top franchises in SEA Pro is like talking top franchises in NFL. ESL is the the olden day Packers, Bears, etc...teams with long history but you wouldn't put their talent in the modern era of Patriots, Colts, and Saints (Saigon, NBA Jam)...

Thats really the best way I can describe it.

This thread is cool for the history. But arguing the better and more talented franchises is silly.

Fair enough.
