I think snow should cause more of a loss in Kick/Punt Strength...because when it snows it is cold. When it is cold the ball is stiff and makes it a lot harder to kick than in warm rain

+1 i love the weather idea

coming from a person from Wisconsin, it is harder to juke or spin in snow than from just rain... you can get longer spikes for water, but snow is terrible...

also cold weather
- for receiving. (it can hurt a little bit on bullet passes, or bombed lob passes that become meteorites coming back to the ground, it becomes a rock)
- on speed (more layers of clothing, it would be a very small deduction however)
+ to injury (cold weather increases chances of pulled muscles)
+ to stamina (at about 40 degrees you dont sweat but you aren't cold as long as you are playing, trust me its actually kind of nice...)

I made a suggestion before seeing this, great IDEA tbh.
http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=1844389&page=last#15092120

In mine, I said teams should pick a city they represent so it is easier for weather to effect them, maybe add that to this.

I suggested this before, but i am suggesting it again. I think that there should be weather implemented. I thought the idea to where you have to change your gameplan was stupid, but this weather idea would be more beneficial. Say, it were to rain in a real life game, if you have ever played or watched football in the rain, you will notice that it is much harder to hang onto the ball. There should be an increase in fumble chance or increase in dropping pass chance or decrease in strength, etc...

(Not exact numbers, but Bort can figure out some) Ex.

Rain
+ 5% increase in fumble chance
+ 3% increase in dropped passes chance
+ 2% increase in slipped pass chance (where the ball slips out of the QBs hands)
- 3% decrease in punt strength (distance)
- 5% decrease in kick strength (distance)
- 10% decrease in jukes/quick cuts/spins, etc...
- 2% decrease in throw strength (distance)
- 5% decrease in vision for all players
+ 4% increase in muffed punt chance
- 5% decrease in tackling

snow
+ 5% increase in fumble chance
+ 7% increase in dropped pass chance
+ 1% increase in slipped pass chance
- 2% decrease in punt strength (distance)
- 5% decrease in kick strength (distance)
- 8% decrease in jukes/quick cuts/spins, etc...
- 10% decrease in vision for all players
+ 4% increase in muffed punt chance
- 4% decrease in tackling

Sunny(hot)
+ 2% increase in muffed punt chance -- sun in eyes
- 5% decrease in stamina -- dehydration

Turf
+ 2% increase in speed
+ 2% increase in agility
+ 3% increase in injuries (when added to the game)

there could be more different weather situations, like wind and whatnot, but this is just some ideas. plus, we could use the field graphics that saintedix has.

other ideas:

I would add to that:

- Home field advantage based on fan support

- Noise increases offensive penalties based on capacity of stadium

- Teams have the option of having indoor stadiums with turf, or outdoor stadiums with grass; teams could be built for speed on turf, or power on grass.

Before we can have weather we have to have some sort of stadium plan. What if a team wants a dome? They should be allowed to build one.

1. stadium options were implemented (domes, types of grass ect
2. each team gets to decide their region and weather type
3. there is a greater effect for playing outside of your normal area (colts moving from their dome to a snowy day in Green Bay for example)

Weatherbeater for each point spent in WB u have a 5% chance to overcome the penalties for playing in unseemly weather conditions.

This would represent a vets time spent playing in all types of weather and his ability to ignore said conditions.

The numbers don't have to be exact but sumthing along those lines.

To add to wind and weather

I think we should have a daily weather report for each league(maybe each team to make more sense, but league would be easier) 7 or 14 day reports each on Wind/Weather/Temperature also the amount of snow/rain or whatever. Wind would affect passes, FGs, etc as said, and temp (cold) would affect throwing, catching, etc etc etc. Alot of the % increase/decreases should really be tweaked and very carefully implimented, like Snow should play a much bigger factor than a -5% increase in kicking unless it's just like a light flurry.

This implementation would make for some awesome gameplanning and may cause a lot more upsets in the elements. Could really put teams out of place a la Colts in Gillette Stadium for example. Or what we recently saw with Arizona vs NE. (no I am not a NE fan heh)

I would say Rain has a higher "dropped pass" rate than fumble chance. Because when it's rainy your supposed to run the ball more as opposed to passing more.

Another point I would say is that you should know a head of the game the predicted weather. With a % chance that this weather will happen so there is a bit of gambling involved in making a game plan.

With the Rain/Snow there should be a chance for the player to fall down when juking/changing direction very fast instead of making jukes ect less effective. You can still juke in the rain, because the defender is under the same hindrance from the weather. Just a matter of who, if anyone, falls down.

Also:
Extreme Cold
Passes are harder to catch.
Punts and Kicks don't go as far. (Frozen Ball Effect)
