You didn't know that free games are the way to go (for the dev). Much more money in "free" games than subscription based. It's maff.

Splitting the fanbase just seems like a really bad idea. Unless thereīs some other twist to the new game or flex carries over I donīt see myself spending any money on the new game. Once that goes out of beta there will just be 3.0 and all our spending will be forfeit again.
