.....some enjoy building, MOST don't, and almost ALL hate seeing a calender year to do so while LOLminor forums are tumbleweeds except GG's. Hell, not even every level has a GLB tourny in the LOLminors.... its getting more and more "who cares" then ever in Peewee's to Regionals.

yeah, insta 79's should still decline after 5 seasons

If we polled JUST this thread, it would be obvious, but if you went to the minors, i bet 90%++ say they could care less about level 27 and just want 79's to perform for real.

Agreed. 79's for 5 seasons, then normal decline.

If I wasnt too lazy to look for it, I'd repost the sliding scale suggestion I made (probably buried in a Main forum thread) for insta 79s.

Basically the gist of it was that you can insta boost to like d120 (or d160 if you prefer) with no SP penalty. This effectively removes the lowest minors from being anything close to fun or competitive (which they aren't really anyway I suppose). Then the SP penalty would look something like this....

0 - 120 = 0 SP penalty/level
121 - 160 = 1 SP penalty/boosted level (max 3 SPs per season)
161 - 200 = 2 SP SP penalty/boosted level (max 6 SPs per season)
201 - 240 = 3 SP SP penalty/boosted level (max 9 SPs per season)
241 - 280 = 4 SP SP penalty/boosted level (max 12 SPs per season)

Theres of course a variety of other ways you could approach it but the rationale is that insta 79 is more of a way to keep the higher levels more competitive and avoid gutting because there is no QB or DT or whatever position available and it would make your team uncompetitive.

Basically, a way to fill gaps but at least trim a few months off the overall build timeline (i.e. up to 120 days or whatever makes the most sense).

I don't consider myself clueless, and sort of see it as the below. FWIW, it's not so much that I believe in penalties for instant dots, as much as I think there should absolutely be a reward for those that build patiently the way the game was designed.

Let the 7 people that want insta 79s have them but at a higher flex cost

Implement a profit sharing system so the other 11 people still playing that are opposed to insta 79s get a piece

Yeah it really doesnt matter anyway these days. Might have been a good debate a year ago.

is this discussion just on a time lapse for people still playing the game
