The perception is going to be solely on that video until people can actually play it, so response wasn't as expected. Take the feedback and absorb it. Good or bad, all good stuff to hear. Not fun, but necessary. GLB wasn't what is it now at first is what I'd point out.

Yeah, then again, this forum in particular isn't a very good barometer. You'd think GLB2 was a massive failure based on this forum, but it has more active users and a far better atmosphere than this game at the moment.

The reaction to everything is basically "it's shit work on GLB instead". Which, while it isn't bad feedback (this game could use some touching up for sure), it is a surefire way to kill WGG, and ironically GLB. Adding weather and tweaking chemistry is definitely NOT going to bring in new customers. A new game might.

You guys know your business better than the agents on GLB. You'll attract a new crowd that is wanting these types of games for their simplicity to play and new business can see what other games you have to offer as you build up the library.

We actually have something in the works that will likely bring in some new users.

DD can share it if he wants, but yeah it's promising. We're all excited for it, anyway.

The last time I heard that line here the ""new thing" turned out to be GLB2.
How did that work out?

We're doing better than we were a year ago.

I'm going to chalk that up as good.

I think that would require me to believe what you say.
If you ask a salesman how is business is doing he will always say "Great! everything is Great". Even if he is headed to bankruptcy court that day.
You spew the company line as that is what you are paid to do.

Not saying, Just sayin.

The problem when it comes to new users is back in 2008 the message boards on many sites were very active. Most people joining GLB came from message boards and we came in the middle of the season and that wasn't a problem. Now Facebook, twitter and the likes are so big 6 years later that most message board members have dwindles with active users such as this one. There is no strategy to target new members. Where can you find new members? Facebook has it's own series of games and a lot look better than what GLB2 and the goofy karate game will bring.

GLB should thing what they can do to draw in new members, what do people still like and can use to their advantage? Fantasy football, betting games etc, that is where the money is at. Create a simulated NFL season year round with current players. Host fantasy football sim. When the real NFL season is over and the Die hard NFL junkies are looking for something beyond watching basketball, your game should be a hit.

Think outside the box and not what you like, it's what we like that pays the bills.

Well that's all kinds of icy legal waters.

I'm just going to be myself and not give a shit with pretension.

that is fucking poetry

I don't think it's hard to understand why the game that has ongoing improvement and meaningful interaction with the customer base has a "far better atmosphere" then the one that doesn't.

You don't think you played a significant role in creating the atmosphere of this forum?

I would guess the vast majority of players here don't expect WG to spend the entirety (or majority even) of their time/resources on continued GLB1 development. I would be pleased by the success of your other ventures. For my selfish interests it would make more likely the continued availability of the game you've made that I greatly enjoy.

Can you understand how the: "you guys should just be thankful we keep the server plugged in" mentality that you in particular (and your company in general) demonstrate is frustrating to those of us who still pay to play this game?
How it might further flame the "atmosphere" that you guys find around these forums?

Obviously trolls will troll tho.

*Also, when I see you touch on the subject you seem to consistently pull out proposed changes to the game that I believe would be at the very bottom of the want list if you polled the current userbase. Have you considered that minimal attention to this game would help your company continue business with some number of current customers? I agree with everything you said about new users itt.*
