Any new user who is putting in the effort will find it will take them 2-5 seasons to get things figured out. So it is going to take a dedicated individual to play this game.

I suggested something a few years back that addresses that. Bert took my suggestion and bastardized it to the point it wasn't even recognizable.

F**k me it really isnt that hard - Re-package the game - ask the existing user base for a leap of faith and then get the fuck out there and sell the game to Joe Public.......And if he likes it and stays its because he doesnt want to be taken anywhere else - he will provide a steady source of income and may even tell his mates (if his names not Billy)

All the whining I hear from people whove been in the game "since day 1 blah blah" and "it doesnt work like that" and are actually on the "staff" of this game makes me cringe......Arent you guys proud of the product youre selling/monitoring/trolling ?? Get some fire in your bellies and blow some life back into this game

And as for GLB 2 - "And its No Nay Never !! No Nay Never No More !! I aint playing that fekkin monstrosity ! No Never No More

GLB1- 5-6 years down the road
GLB2 - on its second season

If GLB1 wasn't kicking its ass currently we wouldn't even be here.

Yeah I wouldnt encourage insta 79 as the "norm" but I think its a necessary thing to maintain competition at the higher levels. I think you want these to be the exception rather than the norm, but you do want them as they keep users from gutting or rebooting and having to start the whole thing over again.

Thats why I think you have to set a level/age where you allow users to insta boost with no penalty. I'd suggest L60/d200 and say any additional instaboost (beyong L60) reduces ALGs and/or SPs gained by x% per level beyond L60.

Maybe x = 10%, perhaps its a little more steep at 15 or 20%...but the details can be worked out. It could also be debated as to whatever level/age makes sense, I just picked that because its the first season where I actually start watching them.

I think you'd still want to allow people to start from L1 if thats what they want to do, though. It might be the best way for any new users to get some level of success or trial & error without going full on D-leagues. You'd likely have little need for more than 1 rookie, university, etc. league though.

The answer seems simple:

Rebrand GLB2 to GLB Mobile, its simplicity makes it a plausible mobile game and it can be co-marketed with GLB. When it's branded as the successor it undermines the original, which is the far superior product. Then continue to support GLB with new updates and content while developing a new non football sim asap that has a decent level of complexity.

What browser do you use to view GLB2 on phone?
I use Dolphin and Chrome, but neither display well.
Any recommend?

I used Boat when I played in alpha.

I use chrome and my only problem with glb2 is the tool bar. It always jumps in front of the screen when I try and post in a forum. Otherwise I'd actually prefer to watch the games on mobile because they seem smoother to watch that way. That would probably be different if there was more of a gameplanning aspect to it but the way it currently is saris is right. It's simplicity markets well as a mobile game. Though they could probably make everything about that site much cleaner.

this seems like a very clever idea to mask the mistake that was created while offering an alternative time to play the game....as its mobile intended, and thus dumbed down due to the limitations set forth by mobile scenarios, its not a true competitor to glb1 but more like an add on.

GLB1 is a polished game and thus why the people that are still here playing it 5 years later are here.

GLB2 is on season 2 with a ton of bugs and an open road.

I would expect the polished product to have some significant advantages. But the one big advantage that GLB2 has is that it is still getting better.

This would have be buying flex for the next 5 years I would assume.

Just because GLB1 is 5-6 years old doesn't mean it's" too old to advertise" The original user base found this place with no advertising to begin with. There are hundreds of thousands of gamers out there that do not know GLB exsists.
For what it's worth,I'll be starting up another GLB1 team this off season, which will give me 3 at various age levels.

After being a tester on V2, I loathed it. Nothing has changed since it debuted. My hope was that it would become a quality beginners version to get someone comfortable with the basic nuances of GLB itself. Alas, I haven't been on V2 for 3-4 months and have heard basically nothing but negative.

It would seem that perhaps WG Games could debut a different sport (Basketball or baseball?) and run with that as a second venture to accompany the success of GLB1. Obviously V1 has had a measure of success or it wouldn't have survived this long.

As for V1, I hope V1 sticks as it is a fun diversion from the hustle of everyday life.

I hear V3 is going to be awesome.
