NOVUS RANKINGS - AFTER 14 GAMES

01) Oseberg Vikings {CANADA} (14-0) (13-0 in-conference)
Oseberg trailed the Real McCoys by 14 going into the final frame, but rattled off 17 unanswered to preserve their undefeated record. Still, did the McCoys just hand Burnside the script for beating Oseberg? Does it matter? Oseberg can lose to Burnside and still clinch #1 in Canada by beating BC in Game 16, so don't be surprised if Oseberg takes it easy against Burnside. It all depends on how badly the Vikings want that shiny 16-0 record.

02) Cincinnati Shockers {USA} (13-1) (13-0 in-conference)
Cincy beat Palm Bay by 7, and it really wasn't even that close. With easy games with Hillbilly and South Georgia left, Cincy is realistically going to finish #1 in USA.

03) Burnside Bandits {CANADA} (12-2) (12-1 in-conference)
Burnside still has the inside lane for the #2 spot in Canada. They can lock in #2 by winning their final 2 games, and even if they split their final two games they'll still probably finish #2 in Canada, except for a small number of scenarios in which they could drop to #3 or #4. Even if they drop their final two games, Burnside could still finish as high as #3 and no lower than #5. #1 is probably a pipe dream… even if Burnside upsets Oseberg and holds off Puffington, they would also need Oseberg to somehow get upset by BC.

04) Palm Bay Palookas {USA} (12-2) (11-2 in-conference)
Lost to #1 Cincy, and suddenly their playoff positioning is much more precarious than it was. Palm Bay is still in the driver's seat for #2 in USA, but they'll have to hold off College Station and Austin, and both are capable of upsetting Palm Bay. A split means Palm Bay would slip to #3 or #4 in USA. Lose both, and Palm Bay would drop to #4 or #5 in the USA standings, though no lower.

05) Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies {CANADA} (11-3) (10-3 in-conference)
Broke up the Bilderbergs with ease, and now the Duckies close out with two cupcakes. #4 in Canada is their floor, and the Duckies could take #2 if Burnside drops their final 2 games with Oseberg and Puffington.

06) KC's Metro Choppers {USA} (11-3) (10-3 in-conference)
Realistically, KC Metro is not going to lose to the Aces or Nevada, so they'll finish 13-3, and they own the tie-breakers over both Palm Bay and Choppin. #3 in USA is practically guaranteed, and they could take #2 in USA if Palm Bay slips up. But there's also a few limited scenarios in which KC could slip to #4 in USA (though no lower) if the right teams tie them at 13-3.

07) Legacy's Runnin With The Real McCoys {CANADA} (10-4) (9-3 in-conference)
Gave Oseberg a fight, but blew a 14-point 4th quarter lead to lose by 3. Puffington is up next and presents a challenge, but the Real McCoys then get a cupcake win from Grande. Beat Puffington, and the Real McCoys will lock in a top-5 finish in Canada and could even climb as high as #3 if things break just right. Lose to Puffington, and the McCoys would be locked in at #5 in Canada but no lower due to their earlier wins over Dallas and Vicious.

08) Choppin Broccoli {USA} (11-3) (10-3 in-conference)
Choppin emerged victorious in a 76-73 shootout with College Station that featured three lead changes in the final 61 seconds, proving once again how incredibly skilled their O is and how incredibly awful their D is. Choppin is capable of outscoring both Austin and the Royal Men in their final two games to lock in a top-5 finish, possibly as high as the 3-seed if Palm Bay screws up badly enough. But they've hemorraghed points to the top teams in USA all season long and could just as easily drop one or both games to fall as far as #6 in USA, though no lower.

09) Austin Wineswilling Fancy Boys {USA} (12-2) (11-2 in-conference)
Austin held off the hungry Patriots 45-17. Now it gets tough: Choppin and Palm Bay to close out the season. Austin has fallen hard to Cincy and Orlando, but also crushed the Royal Men and topped KC Metro. Which Austin team will show up? Win both games, and Austin would finish #2 in USA. Split both games, and they could still finish #2 or #3. Lose both games though, and they will fall to #5 or #6 in USA, though no lower.

10) Puffington Magic Dragons {CANADA} (11-3) (10-3 in-conference)
Won their last gimme game, but now Puffington closes out with two challenging games: the Real McCoys, then Burnside. They could win both to finish #2, #3 or #4 in Canada, but I'm not sure they actually will. Splitting their final games would land them at #3, #4 or #5, while losing both games would lock them in at #5 in Canada but no lower.

11) All The King's Royal Men {USA} (10-4) (10-3 in-conference)
The Royal Men have been royally inconsistent all season long, but they locked in a playoff spot with a strong win over Orlando. Up next, they'll probably stay true to form by losing to the Patriots by 40 but crushing Choppin by 30 or something. They could finish as high as #4 in USA if they win both games and get some help, or as low as #7 in USA if they drop both games.

12) Dallas Paladins {CANADA} (9-5) (9-4 in-conference)
Dallas's final two games with Vicious and Bilderberg are crucial, and both squads are capable of upsetting the Paladins. Still, winning both games would lock Dallas into the 6-seed in Canada. Splitting those games would lock them into the playoffs as the 6-seed or 7-seed. Lose both, however, and Dallas could find themselves #8 at-best or out of the playoffs at-worst.

13) Vicious Circle {CANADA} (9-5) (8-5 in-conference)
Vicious's big win over Cobden and Bilderberg's loss to the Duckies means Vicious has the inside track to the 7-seed in Canada. Dallas next will be tough, but Vicious closes out against Drunk and is basically guaranteed a 10th win, so their path to a playoff spot is assured at this point. So, it all comes down to the Dallas game: win, and Vicious takes the 6-seed in Canada. Lose, and Vicious slips down to #7 or #8 but no lower.

14) Cobden Muskrats {CANADA} (8-6) (7-6 in-conference)
Cobden fell hard to Vicious, but Bilderberg lost to the Duckies, so Cobden's playoff hopes are still alive thanks to their Game 16 gimme with El Camino. But beating Bilderberg next in Game 15 is crucial. Win, and Cobden gets the 7-seed or 8-seed in Canada. Lose, and Cobden misses the playoffs.

15) Orlando Midget Mafia {USA} (8-6) (8-5 in-conference)
Lost badly to the Royal Men, but Orlando should be able to beat Chicago next to lock in a playoff spot, which means their finale against the Patriots will just settle their final seeding: win to take #7 in USA, lose to take #8 in USA.

16) Dot Bilderberg Agency {CANADA} (8-6) (8-5 in-conference)
Vicious scored another upset, this time over Cobden, and combined with Bilderberg's loss to the Duckies, suddenly their playoff hopes are in serious trouble. If Bilderberg can close out their season with wins over Cobden and Dallas, Bilderberg will take the 6-seed or 7-seed in Canada. Split those final two games, and Bilderberg will need some outside help to hold onto the 8-seed in Canada, and without that help they'll slip out of the playoffs. Lose both games, of course, and Bilderberg is out of the playoffs entirely.

17) State Of Franklin Patriots {USA} (8-6) (8-5 in-conference)
Franklin lost, but so did the Aggies and the Growl, so the Patriots are in the playoffs. Closing out the season with upset wins over the Royal Men and Orlando could get them as high as #6 or #7 in USA, but that might be too tall of an order. Splitting their games will mean #7 or #8 in USA, while losing both will lock the Patriots in at #8 in USA.

18) Victoria Teabaggers {CANADA} (7-7) (6-7 in-conference)
Victoria's earlier losses to both Bilderberg and Vicious mean there's no way for Victoria to get ahead of both teams in the standings to sneak into the 8-seed.

19) College Station Aggies {USA} (6-8) (6-7 in-conference)
Almost got the upset in a crazy game with Choppin, but couldn't hold on through a wild finish. And with that, the Aggies are out of the playoff hunt. College Station's earlier losses to Orlando and the Patriots mean the Aggies have no chance to take the #8 spot in USA.

20) South Georgia Growl {USA} (6-8) (5-8 in-conference)
Lost to KC Metro by 41, and that's it… South Georgia's incredibly slim playoff hopes are now officially, totally dead.

21) Sunday Funday {CANADA} (5-9) (4-9 in-conference)

22) BC Lions {CANADA} (5-9) (4-9 in-conference)
BC never got their offense sorted out, and their playoff hopes are officially done.

23) Nevada Farm Boys {USA} (4-10) (4-9 in-conference)
They fight hard, but Nevada is just outmatched in USA Pro this season.

24) Chicago Bears 85 {USA} (3-11) (3-10 in-conference)
If they finish with 5 wins, I'll be amazed.

25) The Gun Circus {CANADA} (3-11) (3-10 in-conference)
Clearly shooting blanks.

26) Hillbilly Coondogs {USA} (4-10) (3-10 in-conference)
The second-worst human team in the USA.

27) GLB Gridiron Aces {USA} (1-13) (1-12 in-conference)
The worst human team in the USA.

28) El Camino {CANADA} (2-12) (2-11 in-conference)
Needs to be sold off for scrap metal.

29) Southern Storm {USA} (1-13) (1-12 in-conference)
CPU-owned team, though that does give them an advantage over human-owned teams with CPU rosters: no penalty to Southern's CPU dots.

30) Drunk Masterminds {CANADA} (0-14) (0-13 in-conference)
Terrible roster. Could probably still beat Grande Torino though.

31) Grande Torino {CANADA} (0-14) (0-13 in-conference)
Just awful. Would probably beat Tampa, but it would be close.

32) Tampa Bay Turbulence {USA} (0-14) (0-13 in-conference)
Human-owned. Empty roster. No threat.

NOVUS RANKINGS - AFTER 15 GAMES

01) Oseberg Vikings - 14-1 - {CANADA}
Lost to Burnside in a close one, but does it matter? Only if Oseberg also loses to the hapless BC Lions in their finale. It's safe to ink Oseberg into the 1-seed in Canada, and I don't think there's any shame in losing a close one in a meaningless game with a strong opponent. Oseberg is still on top in my book.

02) Cincinnati Shockers - 14-1 - {USA}
Crushed Hillbilly. With just an easy game with South Georgia left, Cincy is realistically going to finish #1 in USA.

03) Burnside Bandits - 13-2 - {CANADA}
Shocked Oseberg, though that might not mean much since nothing was on the line for Oseberg beyond pride. But it did help lock in the 2-seed in Canada for Burnside. Even if they drop Game 16 to Puffington, Burnside still owns all the right tie-breakers to stay at #2 in Canada.

04) Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies - 12-3 - {CANADA}
The Duckies are cruising to the 3-seed in Canada… in fact, they're locked in, no matter what else happens, barring an absolutely crazy upset by a team that should lose by 100 or something.

05) KC's Metro Choppers - 12-3 - {USA}
Realistically, KC Metro is not going to lose to Nevada, so they'll finish 13-3 and finish in the top-4 in USA. If Palm Bay beats Austin, KC Metro will take the 2-seed. If Austin wins, then the Choppin Broccoli-Royal Men game comes into play… a Royal Men win lock KC in at the 3-seed, while a Choppin win sets up a 3-way tie at 13-3 between KC, Austin, and Choppin, with all three teams holding 1-1 head-to-head records, sending the tie-breaker to points-allowed. Here, Austin has an insurmountable lead and would take the 2-seed, while KC and Choppin are actually tied. However, all KC has to do is give up fewer points to Nevada than Choppin gives up to the Royal Men to clinch the 3-seed, and given how bad Choppin's D has been this season, that's pretty likely.

06) Palm Bay Palookas - 12-3 - {USA}
Got embarrassed by the Aggies, and threw away a chance at the 2-seed in the process. Palm Bay's final game against Austin is now critical. Win, and Palm Bay locks in the 3-seed in USA. Lose, and the Choppin Broccoli-Royal Men game enters the picture. A Royal Men upset would put Palm Bay in the 4-seed, while a Choppin win would drop Palm Bay to the 5-seed.

07) Legacy's Runnin With The Real McCoys - 11-4 - {CANADA}
Edged out the Magic Dragons, and with a cupcake for their finale, the Real McCoys are locked into the 4-seed.

08) Choppin Broccoli - 12-3 - {USA}
Choppin's D finally stepped up, holding Austin to 17 to cruise to victory. Now, a finale with the Royal Men. Win, and Choppin locks in the 4-seed in USA… maybe even the 3-seed if Austin beats Palm Bay to set up a 3-way round-robin tie with Austin, Choppin and KC Metro. Choppin can't catch Austin in points-allowed, but with Choppin and KC Metro tied in points-allowed, if Choppin somehow allows fewer points to the Royal Men than what KC Metro allows to Nevada, Choppin would rise to the 3-seed. If Choppin loses to the Royal Men, however, the Broc drops all the way to the 6-seed in USA thanks to earlier losses and unfavorable points-allowed tie-breakers.

09) Austin Wineswilling Fancy Boys - 12-3 - {USA}
Fell hard to Choppin Broccoli, but amazingly Austin still controls their own destiny for the 2-seed in USA. Beat Palm Bay and they clinch the 2-seed thanks to their earlier win over KC Metro and their 100+-point advantage in all possible points-allowed tie-breakers. Lose to Palm Bay, and Austin drops to the 5-seed... unless the Royal Men upset Choppin in a shootout where Austin is able to erase the 30-point advantage in points-allowed the Royal Men currently hold over Austin, in which case Austin would take the 4-seed. Bit of a long shot, though.

10) Puffington Magic Dragons - 11-4 - {CANADA}
Lost to the Real McCoys, and now the Dragons are locked into the 5-seed, regardless of the outcome of their finale with Burnside.

11) All The King's Royal Men - 11-4 - {USA}
Crushed the Patriots and kept their hopes alive for a 4-seed in USA. But they only have once chance to grab it: the Royal Men have to beat Choppin, Palm Bay has to beat Austin, and the Royal Men have to maintain their 30-point advantage in points-allowed over Austin. Do that, and the Royal Men take the 4-seed, or else the 5-seed if Austin somehow erases that points-allowed advantage or if Austin beats Palm Bay. If the Royal Men lose to Choppin, that locks them into the 6-seed in USA, no higher or lower.

12) Vicious Circle - 10-5 - {CANADA}
Beat Dallas by 10 to lock in the 6-seed in Canada, thanks to VC's cupcake finale with Drunk.

13) Dallas Paladins - 9-6 - {CANADA}
Dallas slipped up and lost to Vicious by 10, but fortunately Bilderberg lost as well, so Dallas's ticket to the playoffs is now punched. Now, it's just a matter of seeding. Beat Bilderberg in their finale, and Dallas locks in the 7-seed in Canada. Lose, and they fall to #8.

14) Cobden Muskrats - 9-6 - {CANADA}
Beat Bilderberg by 12 to lock in their playoff invitation and lock out Bilderberg. However, Bilderberg can still settle Cobden's playoff seeding. If Dallas beats Bilderberg, Cobden stays in the 8-seed in Canada. If Bilderberg upsets Dallas, however, Cobden jumps up to the 7-seed in Canada.

15) Orlando Midget Mafia - 9-6 - {USA}
Beat the Patriots, and Orlando locks in the 7-seed in USA. Lose, and Orlando drops to #8. Pretty simple.

16) Dot Bilderberg Agency - 8-7 - {CANADA}
Bilderberg's loss to Cobden combined with Dallas's loss to Vicious means Bilderberg is out of the playoff hunt. Their finale with Dallas will settle the 7/8-seeding for Dallas and Cobden, but that's it.

17) State Of Franklin Patriots - 8-7 - {USA}
Beat Orlando, and State of Franklin locks in the 7-seed in USA. Lose, and the Patriots stay at #8. Pretty simple. But with their earlier win over the Aggies, at least the Patriots are locked into the playoffs, win or lose.

18) Victoria Teabaggers - 8-7 - {CANADA}
Victoria's earlier losses to both Bilderberg and Dallas mean there's no way for Victoria to get ahead of both teams in the standings to sneak into the 8-seed.

19) College Station Aggies - 7-8 - {USA}
Shocked Palm Bay to spoil their chances at the 2-seed. But College Station's earlier losses to Orlando and the Patriots mean the Aggies have no chance to take the #8 spot in USA.

20) South Georgia Growl - 7-8 - {USA}
South Georgia's tough early schedule and early Chemistry problems were just too much to overcome this season.

21) Sunday Funday - 6-9 - {CANADA}

CPU-owned team, though that does give them an advantage over human-owned teams with CPU rosters: no penalty to Southern's CPU dots.

30) Grande Torino - 1-14 - {CANADA}
Just awful. Managed to beat the Drunk Masterminds, though.

31) Drunk Masterminds - 0-15 - {CANADA}
Terrible roster. Even found a way to lose to Grande Torino by 121.

32) Tampa Bay Turbulence - 0-15 - {USA}
Human-owned. Empty roster. No threat.

Oddly enough, barring a crazy upset somewhere, #1 through #6 are locked-in in Canada.

1) Oseberg Vikings
2) Burnside Bandits
3) Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies
4) Legacy's Runnin With The Real McCoys
5) Puffington Magic Dragons
6) Vicious Circle

In the USA, the top 6 teams are also known, but the seeding is still fluid aside from Cincy being locked in at #1.

In both leagues, a single game will settle the 7 and 8 seeds. Also in both leagues, the current top 8 have their tickets punched for the playoffs, and everyone #9 or lower is now eliminated.

Really interesting season. There is so much parity in USA--not sure if that is a sign that USA is not strong or rather IS strong. In any case, this was a fun season to coordinate in USA.

I don't think there is any question that the NAPL is by far the toughest of all the pro leagues

This has been a fun season and it is nice having g.16 actually mean something.
And how everything sorts out in the final seeding will mean a lot.
There's teams I know I don't want to face in the playoffs and I'm sure the rest of you guys feel the same way.
GL everybody, and IMHO Canada is the toughest conference but not my much.

Canada is a team deeper than USA but I believe the USA top 6 is stronger personally.
