They also beat a team that beat a CPU team.

And that team beat Carthage (without a mini helmet promotion), too. Oh, and Carthage beat EAG this season. Yeah, yeah, no one is trying...

CPU players this season are not the complete crap that they have been in the past. Also, that team in question is not owned by the CPU and others have claimed that its leadership is "elite" (not agreeing or disagreeing with the latter; I just don't have experience with them beyond this season). They may be doing nothing with their team, or they may be having fun doing a little game planning and playing spoiler with CPU players. Don't know and don't care. My point was that EAG, which clearly is an elite team in this conference, performed rather poorly against them on offense. We came pretty close to beating EAG as well. Granted, they claim to not really be trying and I beleive them, but we have been putting very little effort (sometimes none) into our games this season as well. EAG may be the better team, but to claim that everything is a foregone conclusion is a display of hubris.

murgy, you're not looking at all of the data that are in front of you and you are drawing conclusions with limited support from facts. In the end, your rank-ordering of these may turn out to be correct, but the basis for the strength of your assertion is lacking.

To be fair, the basis of the argument is history and precedent. Carthage is the #3 or 4 team (I think) for DS and EAG is the #2 team this season for the globedotters. Now, we happen to have a history of failure in OPL playoffs so that might have something to do with it.

Either way, 3 tough games a season and 2 or 3 teams with a shot to win isn't competetive.

Carthage is about #5 or 6 I think...Nairobi is #3, Komodo is #4...it gets murky from there...

Our (DS) casual team would be most of OPL's sorry @sses...believe that.

carthage is technically #3, but tbh after mojo and cincy we just left most of the roster intact and added dots as needed. carthage lost two games early to pretty solid teams because nobody had set up the special teams depth chart. only one team in this league has any shot at beating us in the playoffs.

True, I'm overlooking this history and precedent and only focusing on what I've seen this season. Kinda making the same mistake I criticized murgy for making.

With Odessa and Gurupies looking to make WL playoffs, you have to wonder how much time those coordinators will have to focus on EAG, Carthage, and Komodo. Depends on their coordinator depth, which I have no clue about right now. They would still be favorites, but I'm not throwing in the towel against them! And I don't think that it is beyond possibility that if we try against their try, we could eek out an upset. I don't have the experience with this league to know if that is the case with some of these other teams' coordinators, but that may be a possibility for them too. Not taking anything away from EAG or Carthage, just saying we ain't rolling over and playing speed bump (if I don't have to travel for work next week, UGH!). We may get our asses handed to us, but I don't think that is written in stone and am not convinced that it is by the arguments prior to the post I quoted above.

Ya, AGT probably has the best shot of beating you guys. That WR core is just too amazing.

TBH, this is the first season, ever, where i just haven't paid attention to my own team. I've been so busy with Indy that I just haven't had the time.

That may, or may not, change come playoff time. We'll see, depending on my schedule. Thankfully, we won't get into the holidays with the playoffs coming up. That was one of my "I'm thankful for... X" on thanksgiving.

we pretty much just have one OC and one DC in our organization and they don't have jobs so they have plenty of time to sit around and game plan for all the important games.

true...but the OC and DC...since they don't have jobs...are spending their days and night at their local "Occupy" rally...luckily all those jobless people have smart phones and IPads, so I'm sure you guys can latch onto someone's 4G Hot Spot!!!
