letters of intent would be a good idea if and only if it were recognized as a contract. breach of contract results in automatic release. If we had this I wouldn't be in the shitty situation I am in with my team right now.

It would also help if when your dot is a FA and you commit pending a WL promotion as well; as a lot of dots do this during the off season if the agent is wanting their dot to play in WL.
Agree with jcross. As frustrating as it is with losing out on recruits that said they'd sign with you, it's still their right to do that and they should be able to opt out all the way up until they've signed.
