-1 No one should have the ability to edit someone elses post ever. No offense Rob but can you not see where this could be exploited to no end? Especially in disputes between owners and players? You have the option of deleting threads and that should suffice.

yeah but say you have a thread that is 75 pages long and some moron comes and ruins it by saying dergatory to the team.

it shows when someone edits a post so if the owner abuses it, then people on the team can see it, if it turns out to be something really bad, PM support to revoke that person's privileges

I agree about editing others posts. but s'pose instead of editing, mod had the privelege of moving a post to a locked, 'spam' thread. you could preserve the integrity of the original thread but not censor someone. that combined with the existing power to ban someone from your forum should do the trick, ya think? Peeps could still read what's in the locked spam thread if they felt the need but not respond to it and feed the flame.

i would rather edit, but only give that power to the owner. reason being, if one of my gms started a thread, and then cant update it, i dont want to repost the thread

alright, so somebody comes in and makes a racist remark in an otherwise great thread, you wouldn't want to delete that post? Even if you remove his forum privledges, that post will still be there.

If someone makes a comment like that you can easily have an admin remove it. They have edit privileges and read privileges on ALL forums.

great, so what. I submit a support ticket, and 5 days later they take care of it? I highly doubt cleaning out YOUR forum is near the top of their list of priorities.

5 days????? holy crap that would be quick but i do agree with the idea

Removing my posting privileges is fine and pretty clear but changing my wording for any reason is not. My question was and still is do you really not see the potential for this to be abused and misused? If not then there really is no discussion between us because we both know I won't change your mind and you won't change mine.

So yeah, there isn't really much discussion.

An owner "changing your wording" is fairly irrelevant since it says that the owner did it and not you. If you feel violated by that, then yeah...we may as well not bother having the discussion.

OK so you see no way to abuse it. And an owner changing your wording is totally relevant. Even if it says who changed it it is still changed and can't be corrected. So yeah I can see you with your elitest attitude all the time believing in this thread.

You have no valid argument, and you haven't made one point in this thread. Stop arguing just to argue against people and move on.

+1. great idea. If I edit too much my players will leave, so I'm not to worried about this, so I do think it is a great idea.

+1 - Needs to be implimented.

And Silent edit option would be nice, sometimes all them "edits" at the bottom make things look crappy.
