The FA market place is full of failed builds that may be superstars in this league on day 1. LOL

Exactly. Besides, once you "break" the traditional player mode to build an ironman, you're probably not going to suddenly decide to attempt to place him in a traditional football league--he wouldn't perform as well.
Just to keep on topic with a simple question. With your statement there, do you believe that ironman leagues would then be the downfall of the traditional leagues?
This is what I mean.
1) In an Ironman league, your players would get a ton of playing time. More bang for your buck? I think that is a fair statement.
2) If an Ironman player really would be less useful in traditional leagues because of the cross-specialization required to play both sides of the ball, then wouldn't their be less players for the traditional leagues?

I can't imagine the traditional leagues are going to die out if an Iron Man league is started. Traditional will always be more popular, I would think, and this would always be a specialty league that caters to a certain sort of players.

True that. We'd definitely want to start this league with everyone on the same footing, a leveled playing field.

I think both types of leagues could co-exist. There will always be a set of folks who have no interest in the thought of building a "Jerry Rice--now with added tackling skills". But I think there would be plenty of folks who might believe that the current game is too cluttered up and would like to see a return to the simpler idea of "Build player, watch player make plays" and would enjoy the proposed type of new league.

The reason I bring it up is because of the player cost issue. There are a lot of players paying $3-$9 to boost players that get 25-40 plays per game as back-ups.
If I could make a player that is going to cost the same, but play 3 times as much, I'd certainly think long and hard about what I was doing in a traditional league.

That's a fair point. The casual leagues and pee wees can at least feed the traditional leagues (though I don't know what kind of turnover there is there - do people build pee wees, retire them and build more pee wees?)
I certainly would be interested in this but perhaps there are bigger picture issues to it that I hadn't considered at first.

I agree with that. There will likely always be traditional league fans and ironman league fans. But I think the player only agent of GLB would do whatever gets his players on the field more.

This sounds like a definite winner to me. I would definitely make a player for this type of league. I assume that these would be starting out at level 1 only cap?

Good luck hashing this out, as you can see by my avatar, I have a bar to go to before all the seats are taken up.

I would think that's the best way to make it work starting out

What about just an option to create your own, PRIVATE league, where teams that join pay a FLEX POINTs fee per season signed. The 'league administrator" could set out the rules for the league, selected from a setup screen for the league (such as Level minimums, maximums, roster spots, teams in leagues, etc, etc.)
Then, anyone could customize their own private league to suit their needs.

I was just thinking about this. It is probably worth another discussion.
