Sam, not a time to joke. The whole "don't make this as public as Tim" shows what a big issue this is. And, at some level, you think its wrong to.

Sorry about that drazz. I guess I would have to of read more of the whole discusion. Anyway, I think Bort and DD should just look at this, and decide what to do. Maybe just fine them some money, but make it enough so Denver would pay. I mean what else to do?

Yeah, I know there is no answer yet. A fine of trade value that goes back to the Gangsters? Its a start. Going to be a LOT of money, and we still don't have a solid answer on hat happens if a team goes in the red.

we wouldnt go in the red in the first place and regardless i dont think its gonna happen anyway... besides the fact if you wanna be completely honest how do you fine the globetrotters? all we did was pick up free agents... i mean all else aside thats what we did...

bigtisme: that you have been in support of this for the duration of this thread is why i call you ignorant, not because you haven't given a solution. It's obvious that it's past the point of return for the Gangsters now, but I speak for future instances because we can't have this continually happening. I also never called you a cheating mod, how could i call you cheating when you never do anything?

Maybe mods just dont have any power, i dont know. But someone of power who saw this should have stepped in and stopped it. If time to manage a team was the real issue, then GMs would have already alleviated that scenario already, but nobody considered that. and now a team is ruined.

Now, since we can all pretty much see that frankel probably just wanted success, then its a much stickier situation. A fine could probably be the best way to patch this particular situation up, but even that still leaves things unbalanced. Hollywood: you are right, you guys aren't some uber-devils for picking up free agents in an agreed upon deal, but at the same time, you guys were the ones who benefited directly as a result of it, and paid very little price for it. The only way it make sense is to make you guys actually pay something (money/player) for the huge prize you got.

I just really hope this can be used as an example to stop things in the future, because absolutely nothing was done about this.

edit: and bolstersam, i understand you wanting to give those backups a try - but look at what position they actually are. I def. don't want a level 6 DT going up against level 16 D Linemen....much less a CB going up against the D-Ends. This team is quite broken.

He lost 3 games by 3 points Sam and 1 by 4...those games could have been either way and he just happened to always be on the wrong side of them. If those results would have went the other way we wouldn't be discussing this right now.

I'll quit this game if those level 6 and 8 O-Linemans they have now outperform level 18's..give me a break man

I wasn't doing this, because I lost, I did this, because I dindnt have time and I couldn't sign backups. Looking at the schedule, you can see that the team was heading into the gutter no matter what I did.

You can control how, when, and where without stopping people from moving their players.
There are already many limits within the game. Not everything is wide open.

I have a solution. I'm sure others can get creative and think of more.

Make a rule that teams must not act against common football logic.
No team would or should trade away a bunch of talented players for nothing in return at this point in the season.
It's not logical and it ruins the game for some of us.
[Allow people to do whatever they want in the off-season for all I care, merge away! But not mid season.]

Violating the Rule: If such action[s] are reported a player can lose his or her team, be fined, or have transactions reversed.


Additionally you could prohibit trades between teams within the same league to help prevent "mergers".
Or limit the number of players to be traded between any two teams to only 2 players when trading within a league.

Like I said I'm sure people can get creative and find solutions.

This has become stupid. It has become more like players asking to leave the team and then joining a team as a group, in free agency. Also, the only reasons why the team has now become gutted are players asking to be released and players receiving offers, from the hypocrites in this thread, who said that they wanted the rest of the team to stay together. Looking at this, everyone just send me offers to the players. I will trade them to the highest offer, seeing as no one really cares about this team splitting up.

You know, you guys had possibly the highest average level when it comes to teams last season in the playoffs and you guys were better than the 6th seed and the levels your team had now so obviously you guys either had bad builds (unlikely) or needed tactics adjustments and a good GM probably would've completely turned that team around.

It wasn't due to any of those. It was due to the fact that we had no backups and even no starting DT. We lost too many players during the last offseason, and to make matters worse, I wasn't here to sign more players or hear about the new energy changes which killed my team. Most of my players are in the 50-60s

You'd have to be creative with how it would work.. but in principle I would not oppose two teams wanting to merge in the off-season. But you'd have to add some regulations.

For example team A wants to "merge" with team B [ie..move 6 or more players]...
1- to move 6 players from one team to another you should have to get permission [from somebody ??]
2- one of the two teams must be "sold", you can't merge and then keep both teams
3- perhaps all players on both teams become free agents so if they don't like the "merger" they can leave.
[or maybe there is a "trigger" if your owner trades "X" amount of the team during the off-season everyone becomes a free agent or has the option to become one.]*

*Something has to be done, otherwise players left behind are often screwed and have no recourse.

etc etc... I do not know the inner workings and programming of the game so I'm not sure what options would even be available.
Again I'm sure with a few suggestions the makers of the game could get creative and make the game more realistic and fun for ALL.
