This just in - in a surprise move the San Francisco Demons have dealt former starting receiver Michael Erwin to... someone else! Details are few at this time, but what is known is that Erwin was NOT dealt to the Flying Monkeys as had previously been believed. Apparently, a third party that has yet to be disclosed swooped in and got a deal done to acquire Erwin's services.
As to Emerald City's reaction, they have released this statement to the media:
"Obviously, we are extremely shocked to hear that King Smitty has chosen to a team other than Emerald City. It is our belief that our offer was a fair one and we believe we made it clear to the Demons that we were willing to negotiate for the rights to Mr. Erwin to both parties' satisfaction. It is unfortunate that a deal could not be worked out between us; but that's business. We will continue to remain in contact with Michael's agent so that he may remind him of our organization's interest in bringing him to Emerald City as soon as possible. Thank you."
