Well hell.. guess someone from the Eastern Conference needs to step up and make things interesting.

Power Ranking:
1 Birmingham Bombers 5-0-0 W5
2 Big 12 Champions 4-1-0 W2
3 Florida LightningBolts 4-1-0 W4
4 Denver Stallions 4-1-0 W2
5 Charm City Headset Jockie 4-1-0 L1
6 Ludlow Lions 3-1-1 W3
7 NewDawn Thrashing Badgers 3-1-1 W3
8 Indianapolis Warlords 3-2-0 L2
9 Virginia Wolverines 3-2-0 W1
10 Pittsburgh Deatons 2-3-0 W1
11 Bay Area Wolfpack 1-4-0 L4
12 Northeast Storm 1-4-0 L1
13 Whitchurch Mouseketeers 1-4-0 L4
14 Tampa Tiger Sharks 1-4-0 L2
15 Greensboro Tsunami 0-5-0 L5
16 Lake Erie Menace 0-5-0 L5

Week 6:

Charm City Headset Jockie vs. Ludlow Lions
A strong rushing attack from Ludlow goes up against a dangerous passing attack from Charm City. Ludlow's talented offensive line shouldn't have too many problems bullying Charm City's defensive front. If Ludlow can protect the ball and control the pace of the game they should be able to come out on top. If they commit TO's or let Charm City have too much success through the air.. Charm City will pull it out.
Prediction 21-17 Ludlow

Tampa Tiger Sharks vs. Indianapolis Warlords
The Warlords come into week 6 as the passing leaders in the Eastern Conference. They have struggled lately against two very good opponents, but week 6 should be the week they see their two game slide disappear. The Tiger Sharks are going to have to figure something out quick or this is going to prove a brutal season for them.
Prediction 28-14 Indianapolis

Denver Stallions vs. Virginia Wolverines
One of the Eastern Conference's most dangerous QB-WR tandems will be taking the field this week for Denver. After a dominating 57-10 performance last week the Stallions seem to have a ton of momentum going into this game against the Wolverines. Virginia, on the other hand, is a team with some very talented players. They have a great secondary and dangerous offensive playmakers, but have not shown the ability to beat a high quality opponent so far. They figure it out this game..
Prediction 24-23 Virginia

Whitchurch Mouseketeers vs. Lake Erie Menace
Another team not living up to their potential takes the field against arguably the worst team in the Eastern Conference.. the Lake Erie Menace. The Menace are experience the growing pains of an expansion team and have been unable to bring in some of the star quality that other teams have managed. They will continue to struggle in week 6 and Whitchurch should pick up their second win.
Prediction 17-10 Whitchurch

Florida LightningBolts vs. NewDawn Thrashing Badgers
The hottest team in the conference take on the Thrashing Badgers of NewDawn this week in what should be a great contest. Outside of the opening day game against Birmingham, the LightningBolts have seemed to be unstoppable. NewDawn is no slouch and have played one of the tougher 5 game stretches to start the season. They've also managed to go 3-1-1 in that stretch. Florida brings in the conference's most explosive rushing attack. This will be a game where the big plays determine the outcome. I think Florida is going to be the team that comes up with those plays in this game.
Prediction 27-24 Florida

Birmingham Bombers vs. Big 12 Champions
The game of the week in the Eastern Conference. The Bombers of Birmingham take on the Champions of Big 12 country. This should be a very good matchup. One of the most dominant ground games in Big 12 faces the conference leading rush defense in Birmingham. Both teams have very similar styles and this will truly be a game where the best team wins. Big 12 could very easily be in the number 1 spot, but lost a heartbreaker against Ludlow. The Champions have the most talented roster in the conference. This game will come down to execution and heart. (And.. no.. I can't go against my team) ;-)
Prediction 21-17 Birmingham

Pittsburgh Deatons vs. Northeast Storm
Another team that has had some stiff competition early in the season the Pittsburgh Deatons face the struggling Storm from Northeast. The ground game for the Deatons should have plenty of success against one of the weakest front seven's in the league. If Northeast can slow the Deaton rushing attack, force a TO or two, and make big plays on special teams they may have a chance. Otherwise, their struggles should continue and the Deatons should help themselves in their playoff battle.
Prediction 27-10

Bay Area Wolfpack vs. Greensboro Tsunami
The final game of the week sees the Bay Area Wolfpack take on the Greensboro Tsunami. One of the best WR's in the conference is going to try to carry his team over the Tsunami in this game. The Wolfpack are going to throw the ball around the field and try to get Willis 85 loose for some big plays. Greensboro will have to keep the passing game contained if they expect to win. The 0-5 Tsunami simply have no established the depth and one of the better QBs in the league will once again be unable to lead his team to a victory.
Prediction 14-13 Bay Area

There.. now maybe the Eastern Conference owners and players can get involved in this thread =)

Agree, one of the best writeups I have seen.
I now know a lot more about our fellow BBB #10 conference teams than I did before!

I agree - excellent write up for the East.

As for the Western Conference games today, I think us and the Snails will play a good game. I think it will be very competitive. Good luck to them! They have a well built team, and a strong secondary.

I do not envy anyone that 3 game stretch of Us, Badlands, and Gilead. A gauntlet, indeed.

Badlands, however, I hope will not allow themselves to get too cocky. Their players might love spending time in the club and on the town, but ours prefer to spend their time in the film room and on the practice field.

Players with character...a coaches dream.

One of my favourite anecdotes about what coaches are looking for in a player came from an old CFL coach (not sure but it might have been Jack Gotta).

At the Grey Cup a group of coaches were gathered and the question posed by one of the reporters was "What do you look for in a special teams player?"...Coach #1 replied he was scouring film for young players who would hustle downfield, get knocked down, get up and try and make a tackle...Coach#2 not to be out done said he was looking for a player who would sprint down the field, get knocked down, get back up, get knocked down again, get right back up and try and make a tackle...Coaches #3 and #4 echoed similar sentiments about hustle and tenacity...Jack Gotta was last and when posed the same question he replied, "I would certainly take a long hard look at this young fella whos knocking everybody down."

Owner of the Thrashing Badgers checking in here, just found this thread. We're a community from another game moving into GLB and we're hoping for a solid first season to build on. Gl to all!

Also, very nice writeup Seizure and nice buildup to the matches

Nice writup unfortunately we were not able to punch the ticket to win our game like you predicted. We had 2 drives end at the halves with the last one actually ending inside the 5yd line with time running out.

Thanks for the positive feedback. Was a little bored earlier and decided to do a little write up. Not bad results on the predictions 6-2 with both Lake Erie and Greensboro managing to lock up their first wins. Congrats to both of those teams. I guess the whole Menace squad got a little pissed about my 'arguably the worst team' comment. Raul Manning also said to hell with not leading the Tsunami to a win by going 27/38 for 262 yards, 3 TDs, and 0 picks.

Good games to the East coaches for this week. Look forward to y'alls post game reports, power rankings, and previews of the next matches ;-)
