We minorly discussed it last year and it seemst to have come up as of late. What do you guys think? I say unter cinference does not matter at all as the odds of you ever playing are very slim. I GM the Bearphins (It was for a free trophy though) and I don't have a problem. Some people on the team thought I would sell player builds and tactics and such but I am not that kind of person. And that's why I think most people don't like this is because of the possible tactic selling or just GMing a team to see their builds or something like that. Anyway what do you guys think about the whole topic?

Same as before; never crossed my mind anyone is cheating, stealing, or whatever.
I just always thought of it as:
Bearphin - Awesomeville
Myself - Tampa Bay
richone - Dallas
irunkle - 10 Yard
and whatever. I just was/am not a fan of someone building a strong team, then going to another team where the owner has finnaly accepted they suck or whatever and basically building them. I like to think of it as Bearphin built the Bearphins; not Bearphin built the Bearphins, then built the Blaze, then built the Slugs, or whatever (obviously making up examples).
Again it doesnt matter to me; just kind of a pet peeve I guess. You guys could be stealing builds, sharing tactics, etc...i dont care if you about that; all the builds here follow the same line Im sure since evrything is cookie cutter.

Oh cool... when is Bearphin coming to the Slugs? I could use a break and someone that knows how to beat the east teams will really help... oh wait...
**please note the above was said in jest and total irony. I do what I do and learn what I can from others in a manner that works for me and to hell with what anyone else thinks**
Just saying

I think that agents shouldn't be allowed in other teams from the same league. There is no real reason other than collusion or getting free trophies, etc... And it undermines other people who are trying hard to get their team built.

I don't think it's that big of a deal. It's just a game and people can do whatever makes it more interesting for them. As long as you handle your business between the GM'ed teams with some integrity then you don't have to worry about conflicts of interest. I wouldn't want to be a GM on a team in the same conference simply because I own a team. As an owner, I don't want my team to think I care about anything other than my team winning.
I don't care if my GMs help other teams because I can always remove their GM privileges and limit their access to everything except viewing player builds. I added my HB to the Crows near the end of last season to help them out after Gambrinus took over as the GM. We had already beat the Crows earlier and they were out of playoff contention. The contract was set to expire on Day 40 in the event HBB didn't make it out of the BBB. I left the team after they signed someone better so I was only with them for a game as a player.
When we played the Crow this season I removed Gam's access to our tactics and didn't post anything on our forum about how we would play them. It can be fun to play chess against your GMs from time to time.

There are plenty of reasons. One, finances. Two, help a team fix their weakness. Three, help a team with tactics. There is a huge list.
I think I started this hole debate last season, maybe even in season 2. I've never shared game tactics between teams. When you get to know people and respect them, I see no problem having them be a part of your team. With the Slugs, I joined them to try to help with some finance stuff. We do discuss overall team tactics as we can share what has worked for our team and what hasn't. Even if we weren't GMs on each other's teams, we could do this through PMs.
A team I played for in season 1 was having some difficulties this season. The owner PM'd me and we talked for a while so I invited him to be a GM on my team to see how I run things. In turn he made me a GM to see if I could help him with build advice.
There has never been any player trades between any of the teams I GM or own. I've never released a player to join another team in the same league or conference. The only players I signed from a team I GM was from Tecmo. The only reason I am a GM for them is because I was going to sign Unconquered's CB. I did send two of my own players to my GM's team in South America AA4 this last season. There is no collusion, there is no gutting.
Quite frankly, I don't care if you guys think it is cheating. We don't do anything wrong. If the admin ever say they don't want us to GM teams in the same league or conference, I'll stop. Now the Wookiees are in town so you all better watch out.

I have been GM of HBB from day 1 and last season took on the Crow as a challenge. I wanted to see why they were so bad when from the outside their roster looked to be at least of mid level ability. I am trying to turn around a team that had no direction or idea of what the hell they were doing and once they are on their feet I am showing someone the ropes to take over for me so that I can return to my main focus HBB and My own team the Melbourne Dreadnoks who both played in the championships this season. I like to help losing teams because no one else wants to do it. Players refuse to sign with teams unless they have winning records and basically it is a never ending cycle of losing. If losing teams cant add players they just continue to lose. Im not into jumping on a team that doesnt need me and is winning as it is just to have another GM title or get a trophy, but if I feel I can do some good and help a struggling franchise Im all for it. Ive proven I can build a winner when I get to start with a new team, but I want to prove to myself I can turn around a loser as well. Its purely an ego move, but the crow had lost 32 straight and after one season of roster churning, we won 3 of our last 4 conference games and had a 4 win season with 6 scrimmage wins. previously the franchise had one win in its history....1

All the reasons you cited were reasons to be a GM. We all know why GMs are GMs. The debate isn't about being a GM. Its about being GMs in two teams with the same goal. We all know its "a game", to even use that in a response is just silly. This is just a debate about a concept of the game.
GMs on two or more teams that share the same goal is going to be considered un-fair, cheating, or just against the American Football conceptually by more people than not. Nothing you say or do will change that. Nobody is saying anyone did anything shady, at least that I have read. I just personally hope this is addressed by the admins at some point in the future.
