Thread title says it all. I noticed a lot of teams have figured out how call running plays with 3 WR's, so what happens if you run a 4-3 and they do pass? Which LB covers the extra WR? Or is it the FS? Any tips would be appreciated.

Depends on the coverage shell. In cover 2 the OLB on the 3rd WR's side will man up on him.

Hmm...would a cover 3 in a 4-3 shell give any advantage over stopping the run vs. a nickel formation with the box stacked?

How do you call a run with 3WR?

I have an idea but Im not exactly sure. The people who have figured it out done so by playing lots of scrimmages, and trying different settings in every quarter to narrow down what combination works. I havent found anyone willing to spill the beans yet so I guess I'll have to figure it out myself this off season.

Yes I do that to..but..I know a pitch play runs from 3WR but I think that is it. And you can't tell it to run 3 wide, it is random.
If you could run up the middle from 3WR, you would have something.

Maybe a pitch with the play distance set to long would run a 3 WR set more often? Im going to schedule at least 4 scrimmages against a friend's team, so if we work together that will be 32 quarters of different settings we could try. Im gonna figure this shit out.

well with the pass defence coverage bug still in effekt. cover 3 is maybe the only D against 3 wr. A 4-3 and a SS blitz may give pressure on the QB.

I also found that a cover 1 shell can be good allround shell against the pass.

I think Play Distance is ignored if you call a run, but it may be worth a try.

Left pitches generally go from singleback 3WR, but I don't know a specific way to call it.

Agreed that Cover3 may be best way to cover 3 WRs while keeping 3 LBs on the field...but what's this coverage bug? Is it an acknowledged bug?

Hope you have a fast agile LB.

In this game, unlike RL, most level 25+ LBs have speed and agility stats similar to the average CB. Tackling and Strength at LB only began to matter this season.

There is no bug. WRs can beat CBs in coverage. Double covering WRs actually doesn't double your chance to stop him. News @ 11.
