Dirty Sancehz : I just got the news that Justin Collie, Ryan Diem, and Andre Caldwell were all leaving the Tijuana Donkies after the season. Hello everyone, this is Dirty Sanchez with the Tijuana Donkey Press. I got the message last night that these players would all announce what teams there will be joining next season. Ryan Diem actually came out of a near retirement to play at least one more season with one of the many teams that were interested in him.
Ryan Diem : I was going to call it quits after the season, but so many teams started calling me. I figured it was worth one more season, at least, to see if I still got it.
Dirty Sanchez : I got to sit down with all three of the players together to see if I could get an idea of where each might be going. Justin Collie was the first I got to speak with as he was unpacking all his equipment after the playoff win.
Justin Collie : I really love it here in Tijuana, but I felt it was time to move on. I have been one of the team leaders for 3 seasons now, and its time for a new leader to step up and take over my position.
Dirty Sanchez : Any idea where you want to play next season?
Justin Collie : The best two offers I got were from a team in the Canadian league, and one in the Oceania league. They both recruited Andre and myself, which was a plus. Its nice to go somewhere with someone you already know.
Dirty Sanchez : Andre, what did the teams do to help you feel at home?
Andre Caldwell : Well bro, both teams flew us in to meet the players. I’ll tell you what, both places had some really kool dudes to talk to. All of d’em guys made me feel really welcome. I also got to talk with each QB, and I could tell both QB’s were great at what they do. It just makes it that much harder to choose.
Dirty Sanchez : Ryan, what made you come back into the picture?
Ryan Diem : Well at first I didn’t care about all the teams contacting me. I was ready to take my place on the Florida Keys after a decent 3 year career. Then Justin called me and told me one of the teams that him and Andre were thinking about going to were interested in me as well. So I decided to come out of an early retirement, and play with these guys again.
Dirty Sanchez : Does this mean…
Justin Collie : Yup, we will be a package deal. All three of us plan on playing in the same place this next season.
Dirty Sanchez : Wow, so what team will all of yall be going to?
Justin Collie : It was a hard decision, but all three of us will be going with The Melbourne Thorny Devils.
Dirty Sanchez : There you have it folks! Justin Collie, top CB of the South American AAA #2 league, Andre Caldwell, one of the fastest WR’s in that league, and Ryan Diem will all be going to the Melbourne Thorny Devils.
