I think a separate thread is called for the NYL - Minn game. As a member of the Fire, while I'm sad we lost, we lost in OT. Our defense played poorly today and I think that contributed to our defeat. It was a nail biter to watch and usually, our games aren't nailbiters, we can usually tell who wins after the third period. You guys came a long way from being 3-6 and the joke of the Eastern conference and really improved in the second half of the season. I wish you a lot of luck in the playoffs and against the Woodys in particular.

And if that game isn't the best of this season in the entire league, I'll murder a cute pug.

Wouldn't call them the Joke of the Eastern Conference, more of the biggest surprise when they were 3-6. They had been what, the 4th/5th seed both seasons previous? They are probly the strongest 8th seed in any conference.

Was a good game to check out, was exciting ... going to be a real fun playoff to watch for each conference

Thanks Kryzantine.

It was a back and forth battle. Warheads INT was a huge play for us. Then converting those fourth downs. Our playmakers stepped up today. We were able to shut down Brooks(who I believe is 2nd in the league in sacks). Trendon put a lot of work into fixing our problems. Dont get me wrong, we still have some issues but he was able to patch some things together.

This game may just be the best moment Ive ever had in GLB.

The NY line definitely played a hell of a lot better than they did earlier in the season. Neither defense could do much stopping, and it basically came down to who had the ball last. I'd love to bitch about the horrible clock management AI, but it's helped us just as much as it's hurt us.

We had you guys on 3rd and 4th down almost every single series and you made a play everytime. Good game plan to run as much as you did. I sold out on the pass, didn't think you'd have the grapes to run against a team only giving up 41 yards per game.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=97495&pbp_id=8124160 - Plays like that were killing us.. 3rd and long, pressure, and you make the play and pick up the 4th easy running.

Were you sweating that 4th and 2.5 in OT inside easy FG range? We just couldn't step up. I thought it was a good game, but some people would say you dominated us, I guess.

Who the hell would say that? As for that fourth down in OT, jesus christ! I need to fix that AI real quick.

Great game. I am very happy you ran out of timeouts on that final drive in regulation.

Yeah, congrats to the whole squad. I thought that Maine had clear sailing into the playoffs but you really pulled out a clutch win and earned it.

Enjoy smacking down the Woodys on behalf of everyone who missed the chance.

I posted on our internal forum (for NYL) that we had to win 3 of the last 4 to get in, and that's what we did. I would like to thank myself for my rousing motivational speech and general "foot up our own ass" attitude!

Was a rockin' game though, unlucky Minnesota!

Minnesota you can go to hell and die! - Signed the Bitter Maine Hawks owner

Hey, maybe I should change the team name to "Maine Bitter Hawks"

Congrats Launch, climb that mountain, and kick Tom back down!

The Cheetahs definitely surprised me early with their poor start. They were one of only 3 teams that beat us last year (Naperville and Crimson being the others). To see them start out so slow really was shocking.

I give the Launch the respect they deserve, and we've been respected in kind. I don't see why you're so hostile, the Launch may have even sneaked in even if they still lost. And in turn, the Maine Hawks may have actually made it in if they hadn't lost against, hell, the Red River Chiefs or the Detroit Mob. I wish you luck for next year and I hope the Hawks rise again.

And admittingly, we got a bit of a break from it: I'd rather face Colorado than LilWeezy. All I can say is we're prepared for Colorado.

I'm sorry. We gave it our best shot for you, but New York played better and won. We actually knew we had an easier playoff road probably by losing, but I assure you we wanted to win that game and not risk millions in lost income from losing a top 4 spot.

I think he was just kidding because we cost them a chance to make the playoffs. But yeah, NYL definitely was the better team in that game. We had our chances.

Colorado is also a tough team, and I have all the respect in the world for how good they have been this year, but anyone calling us an underdog in that game just doesn't pay much attention to the West. We're bringing it this time with no gimmicks or free TDs, Miguel

Don't be talking about the Mob in those tones. We won 1 game less than you did. next season...playoffs
