I am thinking about trying this for my game tomorrow, but not sure if its worth it. Thoughts?
Relevant stats are 66 throwing, 38 strength, 54 vision.

From my best understanding, If your QB's pocket holds up he will will try a deeper pass.

If you dont have time and your Vision is high enough he will drop the ball off when he gets pressure.

IT basically cant go really wrong if you have good Vision.

When i Slow built my QB, he threw Picks left and right with It turned on. When his Vision got over 50, it seems to have no negative effect.

There is probably a risk VS reward to using it, i just never found that out doing a slow build.

Only do it if it cooperates with the offensive gameplan or you are trying to force deep throws when your offense is trying something else

It tends to work better if your offense is calling a lot of long passes. Long passes usually go from shotgun which gives you more time and tend to be run from 3 and 5 wide sets that will spread the defense out and have multiple deep routes to pick from. If you are calling a lot of short-medium passes then odds are there are only 2 WRs and 1 TE on the field and odds are only one of them is going deep. The deep man will probably draw double coverage but your QB will be more willing to ignore it if he is set to favor long passes. Kind of like turning on the favorite receiver tactic only the favorites aren't specific receivers but whichever player(s) went deep that play. The only time I'd recommend using it if you aren't calling a lot of deep passes is if you think your WRs are way better than the safeties and can beat the double team easily.

In one of his announcements this season Bort mentioned he increased the effect that a player's receiving ability vs his opponent's pass defending ability has on QB decision making. In other words if you are a much better WR than the CB defending you it doesn't matter if he is on you like glue, the QB can still see you as "open" because he knows you are just plain better than your coverage. So while another receiver may have a little bit more separation from his defender than you do the QB will still be likely to throw to you because he believes you will find a way to make the catch. That is the way I think favor long and favor individual receiver tactics work, they basically make your QB see those targets as a little bit more open than they actually are so he is more likely to make riskier throws to them.

Favor Long Passes just creates a slight reduction to the "dump offs" in situations where receivers are covered on deep routes. Instead a QB will throw deep into coverage a bit more often than he would were this not set. Honestly, today in GLB, it doesn't have much of an effect either way...

i disagree a bit with that. i tried it already and Vince dropped to 38% accuracy against a bottom4 team. it was kind of annoying actually.

i think the way it works is that it goes for the longer threat even if he is more covered. i'm not a fan of it b/c i value completion percentage over yards-per-attempt; it's just two different ways of measuring a QB.

I have been running my QB on Favor Long Pass all season and i can't argue with the results. I have a 64% comp. rating and I think i lead in my conference in Yards/Attempt.

None of the 4-5 "elite" QBs I know has seen the results you have with this setting this season. Maybe in the past, but not this season...

I've used Favor Long Passes since Day 12 of Season 1.

I used it in the D-league and had some good results. Then when I joined a team my owner had me keep it off until the last 3 games of the season. Since I have used it my Passer rating has sky rocketed, the number of drops and PD's have fallen dramatically.

Sure if it is exactly due to turning on Favor Long Pass, and my team is still debating whether I should keep it on or not. Something tells me there gonna vote to turn it off.

Are you using bullet passes as well? I tried Favor Long Passes once, but it was also the first time I tried bullet passes and went for 0 TDs and 2 INTs.

Nope.

I have my next game tomorrow. I'll post what happens.
