Look at that, Rankings released two weeks in a row, that has to be some sort of record. Some movement at the top this week, as we have a new #1, and a team drops out of the top 5. Also the playoff picture has started to come into focus.

As always the components are as follows:

OPOA – Offensive Points Over Average, how many points have you scored against your competition vs. the average they allow.

DPUA – Defensive Points Under Average, how does you points allowed each game compare to the average scored by your opponent.

SOS – Strength of Schedule, are you playing tough competition, or have you build your record on the gutted ruins littering the bottom of the rankings.

WB – Did you beat a top team, then you get bonus points, did you beat one of the ND’s of BBB#7, then you get nothing.

With only 3 games remaining until the playoffs, I have added who has clinched (P = playoff bound) and who has been eliminated (G = Golfing, or Going Home). The West is virtually set except for the seedings as LA and Texas 2 can get in with wins and a loss by DLF. The East is a mess at the bottom, as the Final 3 spots are up for grabs with 6 teams having some hope, even the 4-9 Showboats have not been mathematically eliminated (but their chances are somewhere in the Neighborhood of Charlie Weis’s chances of looking good in a bathing suit).

The Top of the Heap

#1 – Oakland Nation (13-0, rank 53.68) (Last Week #2) P

It took 13 weeks, but the Nation has returned to the top of the rankings. The reason is simple, Oakland’s offense has garnered them a point more than APP’s defense has earned them. Oakland’s schedule is tough to close out the season as all of their opponents are ranked in the top 10, starting this week with the Mels.

#2 – Atlanta Purple Penguins (13-0, rank 52.42) (Last Week #1) P

You score 139 and drop a spot? Well that’s just how crazy the scores against Texas have been. And, unfortunately for APP, when a team is averaging a little over 2 points per game, shutting them out doesn’t help you DPUA. APP once again finds themselves in a dog fight this week as they face off with Lincoln.

#3 – Anchorage Vikings (12-1, rank 47.37) (Last Week #4) P

For the 2nd week in a row Anchorage survives a tough game, this time against Chicago, and moves further up the rankings. This week Anchorage once again has top competition on the schedule as the Two Steppers are next on their dance card.

#4 – Appalachian Lycans (12-1, rank 44.99) (Last Week #5) P

Another solid win for Appalachian pushes the Lycans up the rankings as they dispatched the Juggernauts. The Lycans face their biggest remaining regular season test this week as Red Bank comes to town in the BBB#7 game of the week.

#5 – Louisville Baby Kittens (10-3, rank 44.29) (Last Week #6) P

Louisville returns to the top 5 with a dominating performance against Syracuse. The Baby Kittens and their 2nd ranked offense takes on Saginaw this week as the Spirit looks to claw their way into the playoffs.

2nd tier

#6 – Red Bank Thundercats (11-2, rank 43.44) (Last Week #3) P
A big drop for Red Bank as the others in the top 5 played tougher competition.

#7 – Lincoln Freedom Warriors (11-2, rank 39.81) (Last Week #8) P
Sinking the Showboats bumps the Warriors up, now they face a real team in APP.

#8 – Austin Breakers (10-3, rank 34.49) (Last Week #7) P
Two straight losses have Austin reeling as the playoffs approach.

#9 – Malibu Mels (10-3, rank 33.90) (Last Week #11) P
Malibu faces their last real test before the playoffs the week with Oakland.

#10 – Chicago Whodat’s (9-4, rank 33.41) (Last Week #9) P
Chicago has dropped 3 of the last 4, but the spreadsheet likes the way they have played.

The best of the rest, and the bubble boys

#11 – Texas Tarheels (9-4, rank 32.39) (Last Week #10) P
#12 – Houston Armageddon (9-4, rank 28.26) (Last Week #12)
#13 – LA Chupacabras (8-5, rank 23.79) (Last Week #13)
#14 – Texas Two Step (8-5, rank 21.72) (Last Week #16)
#15 – Saginaw Spirit (7-6, rank 20.06) (Last Week #15)
#16 – Syracuse Samurai (8-5, rank 18.99) (Last Week #14)
#17 – DLF Gods (6-7, rank 15.96) (Last Week #17)
#18 – Jax Beach Juggernauts (6-7, rank 11.50) (Last Week #18)
#19 – The River City Ransom (5-8, rank 7.57) (Last Week #19)

At least you’ll be home for the Holidays

#20 – Fresno Anarchs (5-8, rank 1.68) (Last Week #21) G
#21 – Big Whiskey Assassins (4-9, rank 1.52) (Last Week #23) G
#22 – Visalia Paraplegics (3-10, rank 1.25) (Last Week #20) G
#23 – Cleveland Buckeyes (2-11, rank –2.57) (Last Week #22) G
#24 - Santa Cruz Slashers (4-9, rank –3.66) (Last Week #24) G
#25 - Phoenix Scorpions (2-11, rank –6.48) (Last Week #25) G
#26 - Big Money Dynasty (1-12, rank –10.97) (Last Week #26) G
#27 – Frostburg Bobcats (2-11, rank –13.73) (Last Week #28) G
#28 – Baltimore Hustle (1-12, rank –14.25) (Last Week #29) G
#29 – Richmond Empire (2-11, rank –14.79) (Last Week #30) G
#30 – Sin City Showboats (4-9, rank –17.16) (Last Week #27)

In a League of their Own (Maybe you should sign Madonna)
#31 – The State of Texas Domination (1-12, rank –31.93) (Last Week #31) G
#32 – Amish Farmers (0-13, rank –46.52) (Last Week #32) G

You know I would have progressed to teams that can't win against the SEC, or coaches that wear hoodies, but you guys just seem to love the ND stuff, and I have to play to my audience.

How about idiot owners? Can we get some slams on them too? Like owners who draft bust OL with the #2 pick in drafts?

Its a shame I could never find an OC for the DLF Gods, or a more experienced DC. We probably could have added a few wins with some actual game planning, but after last season, I just didnt feel like putting in 2-4 hours per game. But I wont be too upset with 8-8. (for those that dont know, I'm glb.center, I changed my agent name a few weeks back)

You could always slam mine for drafting a bust with the #2 pick in the 05 draft.

true true

Ronnie Bwoen was the most efficient back in the NFl before he got hurt...#1 in fantasy points per game (avg) last season
