This is a very big... n00b kind of question, thought about sending it to the n00b forum, but i figured here might be better for a faster answer, and better answer for other safteys.

Does 'play it safe, and try not to get beat deep' mean that you go for the knock down, or that u wait for them to catch it and tackle them right after? or does it mean, knock it down?

I just want to make sure, cause logically it should be knock down.

It means you play I think 5-10 yards behind the person you are programmed to cover on that play.

Sorry mty mistake i should have clarified.

thats the coverage distance you speak of.

this is under coverage style. it goes, play it safe don't get beat deep. the medium, is go for the INT if there is help, and the aggressive, is always go for the INT

my bad, it means you normally will not go for the PD or INT. Not sure if the AI has the defense back actually wait for the catch or if there is another variable involved.

its like prevent defense. you line up with a 5-10 yard cushion and you don't play the ball you play the guy in front of you. you keep him in front of you and stick with him and hit him the second he catches the ball.

I was going to make a thread, but since this one is here:

Do you recommend FS play Pass/Balanced/Run play type focus?

Additionally, do you recommend loose/medium coverage style?(Lets leave out aggressive, we are safeties afterall.)

I generally stay a few yards back so I don't collide with the CB which often happens when both are on close. Though I can definitely handle close coverage.

As an FS, play the pass. If you have high enough agility, play medium.

what about a SS? I don't have one, but they play the run more so i'd guess balanced?
