Multiple Scorgasms at MA Trolls
-The Scorgasms come into this game with a probable playoff berth, but a win would make the breathing easier for SexualChocolate and his team. Offensively, the Scorgasm OL must man up and play their best game of the year if they want to have a chance to win. The traditionally strong running game was anemic against Korb and the Scorgasms have surrendered 25 sacks on the season (2 sacks per game).
-MA boasts Zeta's top passing attack while rushing for over 160ypg. The defense claims the 7th highest sack total, 6th highest INT total and the #1 scoring defense in all of WEPL. Damn. Wait, I forgot, QB JJ Flicker has the best QB rating in WEPL. The Troll OL has only surrendered 7 sacks on the season, a stat the Scorgasm defense will have to increase if they want to win this game.
Prediction: Trolls 33-16
Reykjavík Aggies at Sandford, Gloucestershire Policeman Officers
-Reykjavik has been probably the most inconsistent team this season. They beat the Pimps by 2 scores & Korb by 31, yet have lost EVERY close game they've been in all season. The Aggies are perhaps the most talented team in WEPL, but they have to find a way to win close games to make the playoffs.
-SGPO has surrendered more than 5x as many sacks as the next closest team (European Assassins).
Prediction: Aggies by 200+
Korb Destroyers at Stockholm Meatballs
-Korb was arguably the most consistent team in WEPL, losing only 1 game by more than 7 points, until they got sucker punched by the Aggies last week. The Korb backfield should find their groove against a Meatball defense that allows 122ypg on the ground, worst among playoff contenders in WEPL.
-The Meatballs roared into the league, posting two impressive early wins over the Stampede & Aggies, but quickly lost their head start and have since struggled to find consistency. Stockholm must find offensive consistency, in their 4 losses this year they have been held to single digits or shut out in ALL of them.
Prediction: Korb 30-10
Rivals Mainboard Pimps at Valencia Billy Goats
-Rivals showed they aren't a team to be underestimated in a complete dismantling of the Musketeers last week. A voracious 3-man DE corps that has racked up 28 sacks this season leads the way for a Pimp defense 7th overall in passing yards allowed per game & 5th overall in rushing allowed. HBs Lee Suggs & Graig Cooper are the backbone of the offense.
-Valencia did a great job scoring 24 on Stockholm last week while holding the Meatballs to 52 points. This team, if they continue on their current pace of improvement, could make some serious noise come Season 5.
Prediction: Rivals wins, but I think Valencia keeps it within double digits.
Paris Musketeers at Oxford Eagles
-Paris got brought back to reality in a hurry last week against Rivals and is looking to prove they are a true title contender against the Eagles. With 30 turnovers forced this year, don't expect the Musketeer defense to give up many, if any, cheap scores. The 2nd WORST passing offense in WEPL (only ahead of SGPO) means they will, as I so eloquently put it before, runrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrun to victory.
-Oxford kept it within 1 score of Oslo, which was more than I expected. The starting lineup looks solid, but significant drop-offs at talent at nearly every position's backup means Oxford will be rebuilding again for Season 5.
Prediction: Paris 24-3
Frankfurt HEAT at Oslo Berserkers
-Frankfurt is in a very good position to secure at least the #2 seed in Zeta, with only Paris remaining on the conference schedule, and a confusing AWC team in Week 16. Perennial All-Pro DE Ed Stinson is getting in his usual late season form, recording 7 sacks in his last 3 outings. An offense that averages nearly 450ypg and a defense that gives up just over 250ypg makes Frankfurt a tough matchup for anyone in WEPL.
-Oslo lost the battle to Bari in Week 1 for "Best Non-Playoff Caliber Team", but I'm not sure they would lose that same battle today. Oslo has given up 7 less sacks then Bari (10 on the year) and only allowed 4 more TDs. Too bad they're playing Frankfurt.
Prediction: Frankfurt 51-6
DFools AllStars at Rotterdam Roughnecks
-AllStars? Not so much. DFools has a bad break this season and is all but assured of relegation. They have a chance to pull one off against Oslo next week, but other than that the future looks bleak for DFools. DE Holger Forcedfumble continues to be the stand out player, but he can't do it all himself.
-Rotterdam made a surprising move signing HB Gabriel Knight (http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=88317) mere hours before the game. The Roughnecks seem to be continuing their focus on the ground game for the remainder of the season, perhaps to fine tune the game plan.
Prediction: Rotterdam 54-10
Rohrheim Stampede at Bari Barracudas
-The Stampede must win out to have a chance at the playoffs, as there could be as many as 5 6-loss teams not counting Rohrheim. They have proven they can play with the best, the only team to hold Rivals to single digits offensively, but have shown a lack of consistent play that is threatening to eliminate them from the playoffs sooner rather than later.
-Bari should be better then they are, but an incredibly competitive & talented Zeta conference in addition to player inactivity and, in this man's mind, bad builds, have doomed them to the threshes of WEPL Zeta. Not good enough to make the playoffs, not bad enough to get relegated. Young QB Dustin Ryan has been a bright spot for the Barracudas late in the year, having yet to throw an interception.
Prediction: Rohrheim 37-9
