With the increased productivity I was curious as to if Big Sack may be a plausable skill to invest points in at higher levels.

I am thinking not so much for the fumble increase (because lets be honest, QB's with high str arent going to be fumbling much), but more for the increased confidence deduction that comes with it. I see alot of DE's consistantly registering 2-4 sacks a game. That could add up throughout the game.

I am not suggesting to jack it up to 10, but could it be know that sacks are becoming more prevelant that it just may be worth it to help win ball games? Of course it wont make your stat line go up.

As I discussed with someone in PM, not sure if it was you or not, I've considered putting significant points in big sack a few times this season for the morale reduction. I think I'm too afraid of a nerf to DEs to do it. If you can't average 3+ sacks a game, I'm not sure it's worth it. Even then, it's probably borderline. I fully expect DEs to be nerfed to the point that averaging 3+ sacks a game is an impossibility.

I hear that. It is risky to put points into a SA that may be nerfed as a result of tweaks to the SIM. It would be interesting though. As far as DE's being nerfed that much, I feel like OT's can be built to counteract speed DE's. In fact, one such properly built OT shut you down in the only game all season you didnt register a sack. So, it can be done, I think OT's are just obsessed with str/blocking which doesnt translate into effective pass blocking against elusive DE edge rushers.

That game was before the pass rush settings were live. He is well built, but I think I'd get at least a few on him if my guy didn't just run straight into him. Not to mention he was boosted and my guy wasn't. I definitely agree that OTs can be built better to counter the speed build, but whether or not they do 100ish sacks in a season is just stupid imo.

Ah I see. I wasnt aware that it was before teh rushing settings were active. Still though, I would imagine that his particular build would give you more trouble than most. Probably not a shut out now, but I dont think you would string 8 or 9 sacks in the game.

Again though, I see where you are coming from, being on pace for 100 sacks is a bit ludacris, but any build can be counteracted I think. I think people will learn how to contain speed DE's and maybe with a minor tweak to the SIM sack totals will come down.
