Energy settings at 80/90, the starter has more stamina and plays about 60% of the snaps, but the backup is consistently getting more carries. We rush with virtually equal frequency on 1st and 2nd downs. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing this?

I had the same problem, and I set a teams to 70/80 and it works pretty good. In the last game the starter had half, the back up had almost half, with the FB getting the rest (16, 14,2). Before that the starter was getting 1/3 of the carries, even though he had a better average yards per carry.

It's pretty random. Can't really predict whether the starter or backup will get carries.

Actually I've been having similar problems trying to get the starting HB more plays than the backup, heh. Still haven't really figured it out. Probably a combination of playing intensity (backup might be on normal), stamina, and running style.

Well you can always set the Substitution Overrides to favor starters in certain situations. THat may not "even it out" but at least you'd be getting your starter in the game in valuable situations.

Ummmm?

One possible explanation is that running the ball uses more energy than pass blocking. Looking at your team, you have been down a lot of the games you have played and as such the backup might be in for more low energy draining snaps.

Did you change your depth chart before or after this post?

I don't remember, my OP was made 3 days ago and I've made all kinds of changes since. We're trying 35/65 this week.
