Can anyone help in labeling the following offensive I formations? I'd like to make different defensive plays based on them but I'm not sure if we can even differentiate between these two formations.

Note - these are just from a random game reel I was watching.
Note 2 - I may be retarded and one may be goal line...

1) This one has the two backs in a tighter I toward the line.

2) I believe its "Big I"

Thanks for the input, but reading up, apparently the Big I is a double TE formation. I'm not even sure what that one was.

Same formation, HB is just further back in the second one.

That's a standard I formation.

I've been looking through replays and it seems to be goal line to me. Every time it appears it's a rush up the middle.

It's not goal-line. Although the HB lines up at a differnet depth, I'm pretty sure they are both considered standard I.

Yeah, I just double checked and saw a 2TE goal line play. I'd like to be able to differentiate between the two I formations. It sucks that we can't seem to.

Just wait 'til you go to put it in your AI and realize that standard I isn't a formation you can choose so you have to set it to any variation and put it at the end of your ai, also I've never seen a Big I play in the game, yet it is one of the selections.

first one is a: I-form, strong right, pretty much.

The second one looks the same, just with the HB deeper in the backfield.

it's NOT strong right. It's standard I.

I would say that they are the same formation, with adjusted TB depth. It's a standard I, with the strong side to the right.

what's frustrating is that there is no "standard" I formation in the defensive AI.

Just Strong I, Weak I, Big I, "Any I"

WTF where's my "Standard I" ?!

no, if I have set it to "any I" then it will override all my other presets in the defensive AI.

Now there's kind of way around that, but its a bit cumbersome.

That's why you move it below your other I's. Put you specific ones first and then put the any I at the end.
