Hi, up until a few minutes ago I was one of the GMs for Sparta.
I just wanted to let everyone know that we really tried to turn that team around and at least get them something resembling competitive, but quite frankly the owner Synbad wouldn't let us; so after some well-intending players were cut after asking very respectfully about team direction I said enough, quit and posted the following:

Neither of you did anything wrong by asking about the future plans for this team, they were totally valid questions and you were correct in asking and quite respectful in how you asked.
I've owned a team for 3 seasons now and am still learning every day, but I've done it long enough to give some feedback in this case.
How to run a team:[b/]
-Respect that these players have paid to be here and are just as important as you are.
-When someone spends many hours of their time recruiting on behalf of your club, acknowledge that and don't ignore the players who have been contacted. Some of the players you declined to offer after being contacted were friends of mine...
-Accept legitimate help offers with tactics if you don't know what the hell you're doing
-Try to succeed, not signing high level players because you aren't up to the task of managing them is the equivalent of failing on purpose and shouldn't be tolerated by admin.
-Listen and respond to player feedback, don't punish them because they are asking about a plan you don't have
-Post a gameplan before each game and get the players (and GMs) involved with it
-Post relevant information to your players to help them be involved with the game, help them improve their players and game experience
-And lastly, when someone directly asks you whether you want them to continue recruiting (even if it's only at certain positions), have enough respect and class to respond to their question instead of letting that person continue to recruit and then ignoring paying players who are expecting an offer from you, because you didn't say "stop recruiting". You make yourself, me and this organization look bad every time you ignore a player who's expecting an offer from you after he was recruited by me.
-And you have absolutely no right whatsoever to completely and totally waste my time after I asked you whether or not I should continue to recruit. I offered hundreds of players on behalf of this team, and most of the players who responded you then ignored!
This team was the Dark Lotus Juggernauts, one of the most respected teams in all of GLB and it is now a complete laughingstock and a joke...and there's no good reason why.
You get bothered by everyone who's shown an interest in helping this team get better. Think about that, and think about just who's problem that is!
You aren't going to treat good agents in this league like you just did without fall-out and I don't participate in organizations that treat people this way...
Have a nice day
We all knew Sparta was going to continue to be bad, but we did try to make them better and were essentially stopped from doing so, sorry for the whining but I needed to vent
