THE PEERLESS PURPLE PENGUIN PROGNOSTICATIONS (PPPP): WEEK TWELVE!!!

Well, as far as I’m concerned, the Game of the Season (at least for last week) lived up to the hype! A nip-and-tuck affair with the Purple Penguins stymied twice within 30 yards of paydirt by a Lycan interception! Over 300 yds passing by both teams with Razar Sharpe and Paul Morphy each going for over 100 yards for their respective teams! An interception on the 4 yard line to stop a Lycans drive counterbalanced by TWO Lycan interceptions of Purple Penguin Passes inside the Lycans’ 20!!! Terrific game by both teams, showing why they are at the top of the standings thus far.

But that wasn’t even the best game of the week. Jax Beach rose up and delivered a slap across the cheek to the River City Ransom, scoring 20 points in the 4th quarter and winning the game with a FG and 22 seconds left!!! That late game rejuvenation of the Juggernauts vaults them into the #8 position in the standings and gives them a nice advantage in the tiebreaker, should they need it, against the Ransom and the Spirit since Jax Beach has now beaten them both HTH.

Let’s look at the results board and then get down to brass tacks:

Season Results: 63-7
Week Eleven Results: 7-1
Louisville at Texas Prediction: LOU 225-0 Actual: LOU 167-0
Sin City at Houston Prediction: HOU 56-0 Actual: HOU 148-3
Red Bank at Baltimore Prediction: RBK 63-14 Actual: RBK 121-0
Lincoln at Frostburg Prediction: LIN 48-6 Actual: LIN 97-3
Syracuse at Richmond Prediction: SYR 38-14 Actual: SYR 55-9
Cleveland at Saginaw Prediction: SAG 31-21 Actual: SAG 34-15
River City at Jax Beach Prediction: RVR 35-10 Actual: JAX 35-34
Atlanta at Appalachian Prediction: ATL 28-27 Actual: ATL 24-14

(8) The State of Texas Domination (0-10) at Sin City Showboats (4-7)-----OK, two evenly matched teams, maybe? Not much more to say about the “See ya next year” Bowl. At this point, these two teams are playing to AVOID inheriting the mantle that the Richmond Empire abdicated earlier this season……….SIN CITY-17 TEXAS-10

(7) Syracuse Samurai (7-4) at Frostburg Bobcats (2-9)-----Syracuse is holding fast to the #7 seeding and the Frostburg team just doesn’t have the horses to stay with them. For example, the Samurai start two L26 WRs, Tyler Kidd and Yoda Skywalker and a L27 TE Chris Block. How comfortable would YOU feel if your defensive secondary consisted of two L22 CPU safeties and a L19 and L18 set of CBs, also CPU players. Yeah, I kinda thought so....……..SYRACUSE-48 FROSTBURG-12

(6) Saginaw Spirit (5-6) at Richmond Empire (1-10)-----Saginaw finally awakens from its slumber and pummels Cleveland on its cupcake caravan to end the season. 6 of the 7 final opponents for Saginaw have losing records, so the Spirit must keep winning to be considered legitiamate playoff contenders. The good news for them is that Richmond, though improved, cannot be considered a powerhouse as of yet. Saginaw wins handily...……..SAGINAW-33 RICHMOND-10

(5) Baltimore Hustle (1-10) at Cleveland Buckeyes (1-10)-----The Hustle owners and GMs are a group that say they have had success before, and the jury is still out on whether they can do it here in the BBB. Expecting anything at this point in time, especially in THIS free agent market, would be unrealistic. The Hustle have some players that are single digit levels playing, and some of THOSE are CPU players! Cleveland looks stronger across the board, so despite the similar records, I see these teams as being at very different points in their stages of development….…..CLEVELAND-30 BALTIMORE-6

(4) Red Bank Thundercats (9-2) at Jax Beach Juggernauts (6-5)-----Fresh off a big win over River City, will the Juggernauts be able to pull off another upset against the Thundercats? As crazy as it might sound, the answer might be yes except for that season-long nagging bugaboo for the Juggernauts---inactives. A look at the Red Bank roster shows only a single inactive while Jax Beach has nine, five of whom would be starters. Until the Juggernauts can all start pulling in the same direction together, I think they’re doomed to disappointment against the elite clubs like the Thundercats…..…..RED BANK-31 JAX BEACH-17

(3) Appalachian Lycans (10-1) at The River City Ransom (5-6)-----OK it was a bit of a disappointing week for both these clubs---Appalachian played a very close game against the Purple Penguins and River City dropped an excruciatingly close one to Jax Beach. How will these teams bounce back? Appalachian looks to cement its hold on the number two seed, guaranteeing home field advantage through the first two rounds of the playoffs. River City faces elimination from the playoff picture if they aren’t careful, so this game means a lot to them as well. And while I’ve mentioned before how impressed I am with the Ransom’s revival, the Lycans are just too supernaturally strong to allow a River City resurrection. The Ransom will have to wait another week for redemption.....………APPALACHIAN-38 RIVER CITY-13

(2) Houston Armageddon (8-3) at Atlanta Purple Penguins (11-0)-----Houston’s hopes for a home playoff game are fading fast with Louisville and Lincoln ahead of them in the standings and the Purple Penguins on tap this week. While the Armageddon are a very strong club and have won seven of their last eight, they are 1-3 against teams with a winning record. Atlanta might be looking backwards with relief at the narrow escape they had against Appalachian, and that my be the Armageddon’s only hope. Otherwise, the Penguins should take this one on their relentless parade to the playoffs..…..….…..ATLANTA-35 HOUSTON-10

(1) GAME OF THE WEEK: Lincoln Freedom Warriors (9-2) at Louisville Baby Kittens (9-2)----Husker Nation has been looking forward to this game for a while, and so have a lot of other people! Kittens WR Kyle Kortnue facing off against Lincoln star CB Head Shot is a very intriguing matchup, especially as Kyle has gone on record with a Keyshawnesque “Throw me the damn ball!” The Freedom Warriors have also been very active in the recruiting wars, signing a number of free agents over the past week or two. While these quality players will not doubt help in the long run, the timing of these signings is a little suspect considering the double Chemistry penalty that applied to some of them reducing the Freedom Warriors to a Chemistry of 70. They will be unable to achieve a higher rating than 82 before the playoffs, and that could be a critical disadvantage. Certainly against a team like the Baby Kittens, who boast a Chemistry of a perfect 100, it could prove fatal. When looking for an edge between these two clubs, my eye keeps gravitating towards that green bar for Lincoln and the filled gold one for Louisville. It just demands to be heeded, and I’m kind of a weak willed sort of fella, so....……..LOUISVILLE-44 LINCOLN-24

The playoff picture is going to really start to settle out starting next week, when we enter the final quarter of the regular season! It’ll be interesting to see how it shakes out!

We're not counting much on the yarn..we're betting on the catnip and cream...

Good Luck Kittens, could be an epic battle.

Catnip and cream..... Mmmmmmm.... Might send us into battle fury though... never know? Ever see how cats get when their on Catnip? As long as we can put up a big enough score before we crash... BRB I gotta tell everyone to stay away from the catnip until after the second quarter... See you guys soon.... Damn! Am I stoked!

It may help in the short term. But eventually your cat-nip abuse is going to catch up to you. We know it's not your fault though. You were born addicted. That cat-nip whore of a mother should be locked up. It's a tragedy really, to see so many poor baby kittens being born addicted to the scourge of cat-nip.
