Please tell me how! My teams had great defenses last season, but now they can't stop the pass at all. Especially on 3rd down. How can we effectively stop the other team from passing on us?

good DLine. our D has allowed passing 6 td all year and it starts with a good line

get good pressure and you will see that your CB start to look like all-pros

Not an easy answer, so many things go into it. If you don't have a good grasp of the new AI then find someone who does would be the easiest way. If that is not a possibility then set your basic like you did last year and then slowly work in plays in the AI that your basic does not do well against.

Having a super strong Dline is essential, and I agree with iMan. The fact is that Dline is under-estimated AND more than accounted for. The base of a defense is Dline, but they are not supposed to be the sole reason the outside D is good. Unlike Oline, they have to generate the constant rush but also are not the end all be all of the overall performance.

Point: Dline isn't the Oline of Defense. Nothing is, you need a solid EVERYTHING to be a good defense IRL and (soon to be) in GLB. If you have a weaker Dline you're fine if you have stronger LBs, but you cannot really replace a bad Oline for general work.

Our D-Line isn't the problem. For the most part, we get good pressure. One of our DEs is in the top 5 in the league in sacks. The problem for us is the CB position. It seems like any QB can complete every single pass on us, no matter what. And when our guys deflect the passes, it seems to just help the other team catch them more.

are they on aggressive or medium?

medium = more bat downs....even though it says it was a PD on aggressive, most likely they touched the ball while going to catch it and the WR took it away

I think they are, but I went ahead and sent my CBs a message to tell them to switch if they weren't already on it.

If it's 3rd and 4th down you struggle on, CB confidence is the issue.

There are a number of potential factors so I can't say my answer is the key.

We were having issues giving up long pass plays on 3rd down. I made a few tweaks to the Defense AI and almost eliminated them all-together. I won't tell you exactly what I did but I will say that you need to think about your AI from a situational stand point not just a basic defensive philosophy.

We had plays for every situation imaginable but it was worthless because the zone defenses on here suck and the CBs were giving up completions every play despite being on top of the WR everytime.

I will way that it's really getting annoying to see 3rd down completions to WRs when the CB AND Safety are literally right on top of the WR. Once in a while, ok. But not 50% of the time.

sic, i've noticed this too. verrrrrrrrrry frustrating. At first it looks like the WR is not covered at all. Then when he stops you realize it's that all the dots are on top of each other.
