Alpha

Barger Hill at Fortmill
The good news, crappy team Phoenix finally sold the team and maybe someone who cares about developing the team has bought it now. The bad news? There are no more players and finding players mid season is really tough, though maybe preferable to the mess that is the offseason. Anyhow for the game .. Barger Hill just rolled over their best competition in the form of a 16 point thwapping of Dubrovnik, so when they drop 200 on this team, no one will be surprised.

Demon Brigade at Dubrovnik
Bad news for Dubrovnik .. they not only lost, but now they have to play one of the more solid teams in their conference again. Good news though, they beat up the Demon Brigade 72-0 last season in Week 14. For Dubrovnik their schedule is brutal from last week on out and worst case scenario is 9-7, which would still be a playoff spot, but they will probably have at least 12 wins. The Demon Brigade can actually lose this one and coast to 11 wins, putting them right around Dubrovnik. So in the end this could have major playoff seeding implications for both teams.

GCP at Vilinus
Its gut check time for GCP .. were they asleep almost losing to CT or did someone over at CT take ahold of the wheel and steer? Keeping it close with CT and barely beating Sarajevo, GCP has shown that they are somewhere in the middle of Alpha .. Vilinus who still hasnt boosted, must feel confident about their playoff chances because I can only guess at 9 wins for them and then they have 3 tossups which will make or break their playoff hopes. This is a MUST win for Vilinus, just like last week, because the middle is going to be tight in Alpha and every win will count. The big question for this game is .. did the win over Sarajevo show that Vilinus got their stuff together or did they just get a break to fall their way this time? Can GCP expect for breaks to fall their way? We will see

Hungarian at RAR
Well two weeks in a row the RAR won games that they neeed to and stay atop Alpha in a controlling position, thats the good news. The bad news is that pretty much every week after this is going to be a coinflip game or a game where they will be an underdog. But they have shown that they really have their stuff together this season and are winning the games that they should. So this week they can enjoy one of their last two certain wins and prepare for the tough road ahead.

Kazan at Sheboygan
Now I said 2 games ago that I didnt like Kazan's backloaded schedule at all .. well I stand by that .. but they do get to test tactics and get their best game ready for their challenging end of the season 3 games from now. But this is a trap game possibly. Maybe Sheboygan has gotten something together over there, they almost beat GCP which is rather amazing .. and if Kazan plays around too much they could lose. But that is highly unlikely and Kazan takes one of their last two easy wins before facing 4 playoff teams in a row.

NFL at Minsk
There is a little rumbling coming out of the NFL camp after one of their best players, Sid Aluicios was sitting on the bench most of the game in a tight loss to the RAR. While they could have used that win to move up, NFL has a VERY favorable schedule for the rest of the season and should end with no less than 10 wins, which will put them in the playoffs and not likely as the 8th seed, which Im sure no one in Alpha wants. The grumbling stops this week as they rip up Minsk and take out their aggressions of the 2 point loss.

Sarajevo at Washington
Two weeks, two playoff teams and two losses for Sarajevo. Their big stars Deebo and Cary Stayner, pretty much held in check, in fact Deebo has pretty much fallen off the radar this season .. with only 10 sacks, but Cary Stayner is still running hard and picking up stats. Washington well .. they have been underperfoming, with very limited depth and a seeming lack of recruiting Washington just hasnt kept competitive with other teams. With 2 winnable games the rest of the season .. Washington will probably end up 10th or 11th in Alpha, and they have a lot more talent than that, just not a lot of depth. Sarajevo wins this one and maybe Deebo gets his first sack ever against Washington.

NY Knights at East Alabama
Well this one is a tossup, though Id say based on their performances to date, NY is a better team. This game will decide the 13th and 14th spots in Alpha this season and who starts out at the wrong end of a gun next season.

Hopefully I can get Zeta in before my wife gets home .. I probably should have made dinner or at least bought groceries

Zeta

Szolnok at Dubai
Okay since there is no game to talk about here, lets talk about Dubai. They have Bora Bora .. which will put up a fight and Cincinnati who will put up less of a fight left on the schedule before a Week 15 showdown with a boosted Prague, should Prague choose to boost. The logic is Dubai would likely go undefeated into the playoffs as it stands and Prague is probably the only team that can stop them .. does Prague boost to help that, does Dubai throw the game to not be the unlucky 16-0? Who knows .. maybe both teams try to throw the game, anyhow .. this game here is a 200-0 win for Dubai, so they can enjoy their next two games.

Prague at Helsinki
Two recent games against quality opponents meant two losses for Prague, luckily for them there are only two really tough games left this season, the game versus Helsinki and then Dubai to close out the conference schedule. The same cant be said for Helsinki, who has feasted the past six games on the softer part of their schedule and heads into a stretch where four of the six games are against tougher playoff teams. Prague should end with no less than 12 wins, where Helsinki is assured of at least 10. To get to 13 or 11 wins, one of the wins needs to be here for each team. Levels and morale go to Helsinki, who has won 6 straight and didnt just lose a game, particularly their strength at DE,LB,and all DBs makes them a scary opponent. However, their recent struggles to decisively beat Bora Bora and Cincinnati show that their edge is missing while their owner is out with baby issues. If I went with my gut .. Id say Prague, just because when they are on .. they can beat most anyone .. but given recent history .. Helsinki has the edge in what will be a tight game.

Leningrad at SGA
I had really high hopes for Leningrad this season, but Hoser is a nice guy and let players go and well .. hes in the same shape as Washington .. some elite talent but not enough depth. Bora Bora and Leningrad will play week 15 to see who gets to face Dubai .. the loser of that game plays Dubai and the winner gets to play SGA most likely. So this game is a warmup of who they want to play, I see SGA rolling as they have been doing and well .. will do for some time. But Leningrad does have 3 wins left on the schedule for certain and will be in the playoffs again.

Cincinnati at Transylvania
It looks like the Drachen are rebuilding, but not really with the talent that will keep them competitive in EE Pro .. but they might at least keep it closer than they have been. Cincinnati has the problem in that they always we just that close, but I believe that time has passed, unless there is some major recruiting it seems they are slipping comparatively next to EE Pro and with the new 2 teams coming up next season it wont get better. That being said Kenyon and Toy still have some elite talent on their team and can beat up this team any way they want. They have 2 assured wins, 1 likely win and 3 pretty assured losses on the schedule, so playoff hopes are pretty much over, much less the preseason promised 4th place.

Chernobyl at Greek
Well both teams used the last two cupcakes in order to prepare for this battle, both teams look ready to get at least 6 wins this season and one will get 7 most likely and it will come down to this game. Greek could potentially beat Cincinnati and move up to 9th if they won both games, while Chernobyl barring a bigger upset of Leningrad is fighting for 10th and the desire not to be 11th. Every win counts for fan support and team support .. if we break it down .. Greek has the levels, Chernobyl has the chemistry, but I believe the edge goes to the Greek Fire because they have shown that they can be competitive with playoff teams.

Belgrade at Scotch
I hope that Malachorn doesnt want to throw 30 TDs again .. Swoosh has been rebuilding this team and got some decent level players, but not enough of them, Scotch will score at will and it wont be close. I see Belgrade with possibly 3 wins maybe 4 to end the season .. but 4 is a real stretch. Scotch on the other hand will probably win 4 handily and be challenged for 2, but I figure they can win 5 with no problem and it will only be a boosted Vilinus for Week 16 (if they boost for that) that will give them troubles.

Silesia at Lafayette
The best teams are beating Silesia by 70-10ish .. so I figure LRC will do the same. Silesia more comically could have 4 wins at the end of the season, but it doesnt really matter, they will end at 14th or 13th no matter what and unless there is more gutting (which has saved them for 2 seasons now) they will finally be looking at relegation at the end of Season 5. Lafayette however has a much more bright future, they have 3 assured wins for 11 and could realistically win 13 games, but if they were to drop all 3 of the more competitive games it also would not be a surprise. They probably have the best chance against Helsinki, then Dubrovnik and well SGA is on fire this season.

Moscow at Bora Bora
No game here, no idea why tyrant is keeping the team Bora Bora will pad some stats and probably mess around. Bora Bora has 3 probable wins left and then get to play 3 passing teams which should test how the defense is and that chemistry is coming along. Bora Bora controls their own fate, but will most likely end the season as a 7th seed looking at either Dubai or SGA in the first round .. not something that I would be looking forward to.

Nice write up. It's going to be a great game, you guys have me worried since you've been knocking off some great teams in the 64 team tourney.

Our defense is going to have to come up big and get some nice turnovers again for us to get the win.
