I am happy to announce that the Brisbane Gods are under new ownership. I have taken control after our original owner, Thurinn, became inactive for 14 days. We have great agents on our team and I thought that it would have been a shame for our team to fold, especially with all the teams folding in the OPL recently. So out of respect for the team and the League I was more then happy to step forward. Like I told my team, games like GLB are only as fun as the people you are playing with. You all have made this game fun and worth my while. I look forward to competing with you all. Be assured that the Gods will not be going anywhere for a long time.

Good to hear that the team could make a seamless transition over to a new owner! Good luck with the rest of the season. I know what it's like to be on the losing end of a team that's being gutted and wish we had someone to step up and take the reigns at the time.

Are you going to carry on as the Gods or is there a name change in store as well?

Good stuff Alex. The players and GM staff really stepped up in thurinn's absence to help keep things together, especially sarcasticsleuth, who I feel deserves some mention here. Alex has been with the team from basically the beginning, so the transition was very smooth.

We haven't talked much about the "rename" feature yet. Once things settle down we'll discuss. For the time being we are and will be the Brisbane Gods.

Yeah we have a great bunch of gms. Sleuth deserves a lot of credit. Along with bigpimpin and lurker. This was only able to happen because of their efforts. The players were all on board as well. I credit thurinn for setting a solid foundation. I hope all is well with him because we haven't heard from him in about two weeks.

That's great news. Last thing the league needs is more teams going belly up.

That's always been something I've wondered about.... why a team feels it should disband when an owner goes AWOL, leaving a gutted team. It's good to see that a team wants to stay together and keep what it's been building in spite of the ownership. It's good to see.
