I'm talking 75+ str and 60+ carry. I know carrying was changed to have a greater affect on breaking tackles and I am curious on how this type of build would perform.

I'd probably get around 30 speed and some SA's after this.

Figure I could have those stats by level 22 or so if I really wanted to.

Without power back SAs, and enough speed/agility to create high impacts... You'd probably be useless.

Distrant, go that direction, but don't forget to load up on powerback SAs. They are really useful.

Which SAs would you say are the most useful.

Lower shoulder, imo, gives the best bang for your buck.

I'm going for this atm. Only level 8 atm, mainly due to getting about 18 carries a game in the D leagues. I think my base strength is about 55, Im taking it upto 60, 2nd soft cap, then take carry to the 1st.

power thru and stiff arm are the best SAs for most power backs however I believe stiff arm needs agility to be around 25-30 at least

I believe I have seen stiff arm activate below that, though we won't know for sure.

BTW Power Thru is good, but lower shoulder gives a more consistent bonus.

I am building this exactly. He's level 14 right now. Speed and agility are suprisingly over-rated. The next several levels will be going into carrying.

Do you have any evidence or are you just talking out of your ass?

Per the text of the skill descriptions, you have to put points into power thru to increase its chance of activating. This implies there is a dice roll in its application of its bonus. Lower shoulder, on the other hand, does not mention any chance of activation; higher levels just increase the bonus.

Therefore, reading the descriptions literally and wholly, we see that we get a consistent bonus from lower shoulder on every play, while only a chance to enjoy the bonus of power thru. While power thru may give you a bigger bonus when activated, lower shoulder is more consistent.

I apologize for my abrasive attitude, too many people are quick to give advice without a damn thing to back it up. Have you seen any statistical change with Lower Shoulder vs. Power Through? I'd be really interested to see two HB's run parallel builds with one adding points to Power Through and the other to Lower Shoulder. My guy has twice as many points in the former as he does the latter, but should be adding more to Lower Shoulder soon. I'm more interested to see if they stack. . . I imagine having both capped should be pretty scary.
