I figured since it was mostly a positive response to the Week 4 thing, I might try again.

Alpha

Vilinus at Barger Hill
What a brutal stretch for Barger Hill, they got to start the season with 5 likely playoff teams in 6 games. The good news for them is that their schedule gets MUCH easier from here on out (minus a few teams, so dont get your panties in a wad, you know if you are competitive or not). Anyhow, Vilinus showed early in the season that they could beat the best upsetting Dubrovnik Week 1, but a narrow loss to Kazan either shows that Kazan has really arrived, or that Dubrovnik was having tactical issues. Either way, this should be an exciting game, Vilinus and Barger Hill have a ton of quality players, but Barger Hill has boosted at least some players and I think that and their momentum will be the difference and they will coast into the easier part of their schedule undefeated.

Couch Potatoes at Demon Brigade
Last week GCP had a 5 point lead going into the 4th quarter and continued to pass heavily and ended up losing by 9. Demon Brigade squeaked one out against a limping Sarajevo and if it wasnt for a -3TO margin for the Reapers, the Demon Brigade would have lost to a team that doesnt have their depth or talent. Both teams have pretty much boosted, so thats not a deciding factor, this game could come down to the fact that the Demon Brigade is stupidly deep with talent, although they have far too many players for each to get good XP, they probably are always fresh and confident (no that wasnt a Sure commercial). If the depth of quality CBs can cover the GCP passing game and slow down their rushing attack on the edges, the Demon Brigade could win.

Dubrovnik at Team Phoenix
A game for Dubrovnik to play with tactics and get backups snaps it should be 100-0 or so.

St. Petersburg at Kazan
This isnt last year's Kazan, they already beat 2 probable playoff teams and came close to another, just letting that game slip away, even with a more impressive offensive performance. Two weeks ago I questioned Kazan's defense and they had enough in the tank to stop Vilinus and shut down Washington. St. Petersburg has played 1 playoff team and lost badly, they also dont appear to have the kind of levels or depth, all signs point to Kazan winning this one, but its highly likely given the weakness of Alpha that the RARs will be in the playoffs.

Sarajevo Reapers at NFL Fanatix
I would rank these two teams on a 2nd tier of Alpha, both of them are solid teams, but one is headed up and one is headed down. NFL has solid talent, boosted early and came the closest to Alpha leader Barger Hill that anyone has, but a big loss to Demon Brigade shows that there is still work to do. Sarajevo on the other hand has played 3 probable playoff teams so far, had 2 close games and a bigger loss. I think that they are adjusting after losing some talent, but they didnt have a lot of talent in the first place. I think that if NFL doesnt get rattled by Sarajevo's defense, they should take this game.

Washington at NY Knights
Washington will be looking to squeak into the playoffs possibly this season, but should have no trouble with the NY Knights.

Minsk at East Alabama
Two gutted teams with similar situations, Minsk is probably in better shape overall talent wise, but both are having to play a lot of computers. Right now East Alabama is playing to not be demoted, though both teams are staring down the barrel of that gun. Winning games against other gutted teams is a must for both teams, but I think Minsk has more of their old regime intact and wins this one.

Sheboygan at Hungarian
Sheboygan might be in bad shape, but not bad shape enough to lose this one, they still have a lot of their talent in place and will run over a gutted team like this, its doubtful that Hungarian wins a game this season.

Okay wife is home I will write Zeta stuff later or in the middle of the night your time.

Zeta

Stalingrad at Cincinnati
I know that it doesnt work this way, but lets give it a go. SGA beat Bora Bora by 20, Bora Bora beat Cincinnati by 42. Unless something goes really wrong SGA should win. They have the history of winning, they have the levels, they have the depth, in fact SGA is the strongest team right now in EE Pro. Of course that might change, as they havent really played any of the top teams yet in Zeta.

Greek Fire at Dubai Lightning
The best gutted team versus the story of the season, Dubai has already beat two of the most talent teams in Zeta and its unlikely that they are beat by the rebuilding Fire. Thats not to say that the Fire are a bad team, I am not sure Ive seen a team get that much higher level talent so quickly as they have, they should be a lesson to gutted teams, but Dubai is ripping apart defenses and its doubtful that the Fire will stop that.

Prague at Bora Bora
Prague got lucky to start the season to beat Scotch and beat up Leningrad, who should be a playoff team, but not a high seed. On the other hand, Bora Bora hasnt beat anyone either, Cincinnati could also slide into the playoffs but beating them doesnt impress like a better showing against SGA would have. Both teams are looking to show something and if this was last season with full personnel and full chemistry the Budapest Brawlers would have been a really elite team to be feared .. but right now there is a slight edge to Prague based on chemistry and a small edge on overall levels.

Moscow at Scotch
We will see how much Malachorn wants to pad his passing stats, he can pretty much score what he wants to here. Its also strange that tyrant is holding onto the team and that caponesgun is a GM here now, are they testing something during blowouts with an empty team?

Helsinki at Belgrade
Belgrade just got sold, no owner a few inactive players .. Helsinki is a good team, it will be a crushification, also .. Helsinki doesnt have to worry about playing a real team for a while, so they can run up the score and take the energy hit with impunity.

Ragin Cajuns at Szolnok
Prague beat them 125-0, almost gutted Silesia beat them 77-0, Szolnok is really horrible. Lafayette will score more than 100, I figure that they will pass all over the Soldiers to inflate their QBs stats.

Transylvania at Leningrad
Leningrad is a solid team, but they lack depth. They will be a low seed playoff team and they will certainly kick the crap out of a gutted Transylvania, who has like 4 human players.

Silesia at Chernobyl
This game is essentially for 11th place in Zeta, Chernobyl has the advantage in that they are a newer active team and they havent lost to Belgrade yet, which is good for them because Belgrade should be beatable for them when they play them. I dont think that they can get higher than 11th place this season, but they have to ensure that they beat the people that they can, and Silesia is one of those. I still say that the experience of Silesia and their 10 active players or whatever are capable of winning this game and they have done some strange stuff to stay in EE Pro the last few seasons.

Nice break down on Kazan and St Petersburg. Kazan is getting the breaks we didn't get last season. Watch Out!

Thanks for the respect Randy. We are rebuilding, but you still can't sleep on us... maybe snooze, but probably not full REM sleep.

Thanks for the write ups. I always enjoy these as it lets me keep up with each individual team more. Granted, it's only our first season (GCP), so the unfamiliarity isn't totally unfounded.

Nice job Randy. I agree with your assesment of the Reapers game for once, its a must win out in Sarajevo. Out here in sunny Canada in one less game than everybody else, I am the second leading receiver for my conference. Finally im in a league with even level CBs to me.

Seems that the Brawlers waited to boost to play us .. it wasnt worth boosting to beat SGA, but I guess they really want to beat us .. game 6 of 16.

Okay .. level advantage is now Brawlers .. they probably have the advantage in our game now.

The Brawlers are worse than Arthur Slugworth trying to get Charlie to rip off Wonka's Everlasting Gobstopper...Boosting for game 6 of 16...The nerve!

Fructose would offer to lick your tears of unfathomable sadness clean...but salt flavoring just ain't his bag...
