I've noticed this on a few teams I'm on...getting burned by passes to the TE. What's the best way to defend against a team that passes to their TE a lot?

1) Stop blitzing the LB'ers as they are primary pass defenders of TE's
2) Cut down on all the soft zones, Cover 2, Cover 3 and Cover 4 and play more man-to-man.
When the two safeties both back up in coverage it leaves the entire middle of the field open and add to that one or more blitzing LB'ers and you have a recipe for disastrous results versus the TE.

1) Don't listen, you can blitz LBs if you know how to handle it.
2)Cover 2 is a soft spot for TEs...1/3 are good matches for TEs.

usually the LOLB plays man on the TE so try not to blitz him if he is good in coverage make him play close coverage

Double the TE
Put your LOLB in Close coverage
Put your SS in Close coverage
Put your LOLB in Close coverage
Put your SS in Close coverage

I wonder how much vision makes a difference with the LB covering the TE with the recent changes Bort made to pass coverage?

Agree 100%. Cover2 is what opens up the middle of the field, not blitzing the right LB at the right situation.

Try cover 1. Leaves the SS playing man and he usually helps the LOLB with the TE. Just don't blitz the LOLB. The rest are OK to go in most situations.

Close and medium I think. Obviously you need the speed and agility to keep up with the TE though when playing man.

Cover 1; usually the SS and LOLB double up the TE and seems to be working for me too.

Has anyone tried going with an extra CB? For example, playing a dime against the 3-WR set in obvious passing situations. Will the extra CB cover the TE? How would it work in a cover 3 vs. cover 1?
Any thoughts would be appreciated about this.
Thanks.
