Build is for a lvl 9 FS (trying to be a balanced FS)
First player i ever made and want to know what people think...I think i made some early mistakes but this is what i have.

Speed: 25.78 Tackling: 22.39
Agility: 18.17 Throwing: 8
Jumping: 16.96 Catching: 17.2
Stamina: 29.87 Carrying: 11.36
Vision: 19.9 Kicking: 9
Confidence: 15.84 Punting: 9

Coverage abilities:
First step: 2

He has been preforming really well leading the team in tackles even though some players are 5 lvls higher. Just looking for ways to make him better.

spd, spd, spd. I would take speed up to 48 raw. While you are doing that train agility. Once speed is at 48, switch over and take agi to 48 and start training vision.

There is no such thing as "balanced" in GLB. "Balanced" is the key word for SUCK.

jonleibo, all I'm saying is balance at an early level is a death trap. You can be balanced at level 25, but not at level 10.

The decent offensive skill players at level 10 will have 50+ speed (the REALLY good ones will have 60+ or even 70+) and you have to get in their ball park to play your part. You simply have to get your SPD/AGI up to maintain the arms race. Once you get them taken care of you can work on becoming "balanced". However, you have to get to the ball to make a play. 26 speed just isn't gonna get ya anywhere.

Your guy is getting great production because the team you are on isn't very good and the DL and LBers are playing tag football (as opposed to tackle FB).

Don't confuse production with being good. My FS gets horrible production but that's mainly because nothing much gets to him. *shrug*

I disagree entirely. It's not all about speed.

You cannot simply ramp up your speed to the soft cap, keep vision at 19, and think you are gonna do squat. Speed is important, absolutely. But without a high agility, your guy will do nothing more than run really fast, be unable to turn, and so run right past the guy you are supposedly trying to tackle.

And if you don't have high vision, then the fact your guy can run super fast doesn't mean anything, because he will be too stupid (or blind) to even know what direction he's supposed to run in the first place. High speed with low vision means the opposing QB will pump fake to the right before throwing left, and your safety will take the bait hook, line & sinker and charge off super fast to the right... while in the meantime the pass goes left for a big gain.

SO...all three stats are very important. Exactly how you weigh them against each other depends upon what kind of defensive scheme your team plays. If you find that your safety is often lined up on the line of scrimmage, matched up 1-on-1 on a WR, then you probably need to emphasize speed a little bit more. If you find your safety is normally hanging around in deep coverage over the top, then vision becomes more important.

I built my safety up in a defensive scheme where usually he is sitting back deep in the field, providing help over the top on WR's covered at the line of scrimmage by our CB's and occasionally picking up a TE or HB running up the center of the field. I would build up speed and vision about equally (as my highest stats) and agility always at about 75% of those two. That worked very well for me. I also found that once I was in my teens I started investing in SA's, especially Super Vision, Change Direction, Swat, and First Step. Once I buffed those up, I started getting a lot more PD's and some Int's.

Speed, agility, vision. There is no doubt these are all important for a FS. Getting them to soft cap earlier rather than later is a must.

It's math. Simple math at that. Get to soft cap soon on important stats for your position. FS is no exception.
If you dont, you'll be lagging behind around lvl16 and you will degenerate into a player no one wants. I highly recommend planning your player to peak around season 5 of his career and 3 is pretty much the minimum.

If you are balanced before lvl10, you are doing it all wrong. For a FS, the lvl is much higher.

To the original question....
If you wish to salvage your player - and I advice against it and recommend retirement and recouping your FPs - you MUST put EVERY point you get from now on to speed, vision and agility (in that order) untill you reach the soft cap(48) for the stat. While putting your points on speed, train vision. While putting your points in vision, train agility.
If you dont, you'll be dead weight that no one wants very soon, if you are not already.

This may sound harsh, but it is the truth. Your player is built like a real football player and that doesnt work at GLB. I am not saying your build isnt good, it's good for lvl9, but it has no future. You have lost a lot of points and you cant lose anymore.
SAs are for high level guys, minimum 15, untill then, pick a stat and go for the soft cap.

Yeah, GLB requires tons of patience.
