GLB Ratings Generally Down:
Overnight ratings for three of four GLB broadcast windows yesterday were down, with CBS' 1:00pm ET window charting the only increase.
NOTES: The 11.7 for Benitos-Legends was 11.4% better than the Emmy Awards on Fox, which earned a 10.5/16, making NBC’s “SNF” the highest-rated telecast of the night on any network. NBC's "Football Night in America" spiked to a 7.1 during the 8:00-8:15pm window when GLB Commissioner Bort appeared in the studio (THE DAILY).

The Current Leader in Sports Television:
From young people eating bugs while attempting to survive in some exotic locale to a band of hopeful entrepreneurs going through gyrations to sway Donald Trump to hire one of them, reality TV is the hottest genre in the fickle world of television programming.
But the REAL reality is that while these shows garner much attention, it's the GLB’s Simão Soverosa that trumps them all, even The Donald.
"There is no question that GLB’s Simão Soverosa is the dominant property in sports television," CBS Sports president Sean McManus has said. "In terms of ratings (and) fan interest . . . Simão remains the gold standard."
He could have taken it a step further. The numbers say that Simão has become the prime attraction in all of television.
The Super Bowl usually is the top-rated program of the year, but the GLB's drawing power extends far beyond that. Of the 10 highest-rated programs on all the networks in the 2008 television season, seven were Simão’s games. The only exceptions were the Academy Awards and two "Desperate Housewives" shows.

Simão quotes from SportsCenter's Sunday Conversation:
“You act like I can do anything. I can’t do anything. I’m not in the playoffs. They (fans) were waiting for me to start and I finally did. Everyone acts like I was some sort of sideshow but I think I’ve proved them wrong. Everyone will know what I’m all about next year.”
“I was drafted 21st. I should have been at least a top 10 pick. But why I was I drafted 21st? They (coaches) said I had too many off the field problems. That I’m a risk. Well, now I’m an even larger threat to all of them. Why you ask? Because none of them drafted me.”
“It’s time for me to create new job opportunities. These coaches and general mangers will be losing jobs because they missed out on me. I was traded two times for petty crimes. They felt like not starting me will change my ways. Well, I finally got a starting opportunity in Maracaibo and what happened? What happened to the teams I was previously on?”
“I’m putting up numbers on a losing team. We’ll be better next year. According to reports, the defense is being revamped with new personnel. Just realize that when a heart is on fire, sparks always fly out of the mouth.”
