Could make it a big TD catch then, and halve the point values for a catch that's not a TD.
For instance:
Catch 15-24 yds = +.5 pts - TD catch 15-24 yds = +1 pt
Catch 25-34 yds = +1 pt - TD catch 25-34 yds = +2 ptsToo complicated for me, when it gets down to .5 points it's the BCS nightmare all over again. I tried a couple of values (30 yard, 50 yard reception w/ and w/o TD) with this system and yours, and they both accomplish rewarding a TD, it's just that it's a lot simpler to add in the 6 pts.

Come on guys we really should modify our scoring to make the unapreciated side of our game more valuable i suggest +4 for every pancake and +5 per 100 yards your team rushes for
Haha, +4 is almost as much as a TD, and what if your HB sucks and drops the ball all the time? I like the thought of measuring team success tho, but it's hard to quantify. If you get enough pancakes, you'll earn enough points. I mean, a lot of your player's performance will depend on other players at some point, but if a TE catches 3 TDs and gets 100 yards for 41 pts vs. a guy who gets 11 pancakes for 44 pts, whose performance should be ranked higher? In my opinion, the TDs and receiving directly help the team the most, but other aspects of the game should be rewarded too.
I realize you were probably joking, just put a lot of thought into it
