At the start of last season, I and the guys on my team (Berlin Blitzkrieg) were thrilled to have made it to the Euro Pro leagues. AAA#1 was a great experience, but the "AAA" forums quite often became negative and toxic due to members of a well-known team of forum trolls. We'd followed the Euro Pro forums and the league since season 1 and (correctly) felt it was the classiest, most competitive and most mature league in GLB.
Last season was a great, great experience for my squad. We enjoyed the other teams that made up the Pros and the great competition this league offered. Most of us regularly read this forum and enjoyed the community.
However, the past couple of weeks have seen a dramatic and unfortunate shift here. The childish, classless bunch that infested AAA for multiple seasons has embraced that role at this level, hijacking nearly every substantive thread so they can one-up each other with their idiocy. I (and many affiliated with my team) simply don't have any interest in picking through their garbage to find the quality posters and discussions we enjoyed in the past.
I pay money to play and enjoy this game, and it's very unfortunate that a highly vocal, but pathetically classless and insecure bunch are permitted to act like internet gangsters, talk trash, and embarass themselves to the point where the adults who pay to play and enjoy this game no longer do. If a guy at my gym acts like that, he gets thrown out of the gym. If the gym doesn't care, then I cancel my membership and go to another gym. Pretty common sense, really.
I wish to extend a heartfelt thanks to the other 31 teams who participated in the Pro level community last season. It was an awesome experience. However, we are withdrawing from any Euro Pro forum and/or community initiatives due to our desire to actually enjoy this game. I have no clue what the long-term future for Berlin is - I suspect if the current toxic environment continues (and I have no reason to suspect it won't since the current forum mods appear impotent to handle basic issues of civility on these forums), we will ultimately walk away. There are just too many other games out there or other things we enjoy doing to put up with the b/s.
Regards,
Irish
PS. Much as I enjoy the hate-filled PMs and forum posts that will surely come rolling in from the offending individuals, allow me to assure you that (a) I won't be reading this thread and (b) I delete PMs I get from members of your team before reading them. I enjoy life too much to voluntarily read rubbish.
EDIT BY REQUEST: This has nothing to do with any CPL thing. It was something we've been discussing over the past few days - I didn't even know about the CPL thing until a guy on my team called me a few minutes ago and told me that people were drawing the completely wrong conclusion from this post. This relates to long-standing behavior in the AAA and GLB forums that had clearly migrated to these forums towards the end of last season. See eg:
