We hardly knew ya.

Is every team in the East on their original owner? Seriously, anyone there want to gut and run? Naperville... I'm looking your way.

Looks like he didn't release the players either. I wonder if he gave them the choice. Stand by for all kinds of "new owner won't release me and I hate this team" threads.

Players stay with their team after ownership changes in the NFL. Why not here? Ok, I know it's not quite the same. We can get easily screwed by a new owner. If I had a player on a team that got gutted like that, I'd be willing to give the new owner a chance. If not, I'd have to simply play to the end of my contract and then spread the word not to become that owner's next slave. By the way, Tom, I think all of us in The East ARE on their original owner. Crazy, isn't it?

Owner's in the NFL go through a bit more tedious process than "have 1000 FP's, will travel" kind of deal too.

Anyway, I just retired a lvl 22 HB because we had 3 owners in a matter of 4 days. Unreal.

You retired a Level 22 HB? Yikes! No one wanted him? I would have put him on the market to see what happened. I get attached to my players. It'll be a very sad day when I have to retire them.

All of the BBB #16 East teams have their original owners. No team's been gutted yet. The crazy thing is that even in the USA PRO LEAGUE a team got gutted! WOW!!!

Well I was a GM trying to turn the team around. One day he signs on, De-GMS us all and then goes inactive yet again.

I would have given the players the chance to leave had I known.

A lot of teams wanted him; he ran for over 1500 yards last season in a AAA league.

I got a release from that team because Asheme's HB came in, and got picked up by a team that was horrible (that USA PRO league team mentioned in the San Fran thread), and I just got sick of it. So when the owner was a CPU, I retired.

This is just my opinion, but I think if an owner is going to sell the team he should go through a few steps first.

1. Offer the team to a GM
2. If no GM accepts, give every player contracts that expire at the end of the season

This will allow the team to stay together if they want under a GM or the new owner. If the new guy comes in he won't be able to just start offering up all the players to the highest bidder which only leads to situations like Stahu described.

Just my 2 cents.

We've had to rebuild parts of the Mob due some prior GM issues. But the core is pretty solid, especially the D. We should make some noise this season.

There are actually quite a few teams in Usa Pro that have been gutted since season 1.

Crazy, isn't it? I think the BBB #16 East has been the most solid conference in all of GLB. There's probably other conferences in other leagues that haven't had a team gutted yet. The only two new teams in our Eastern Conference are teams that came in to replace the holes left by The Atlanta Hitmen and The Crimson Marauders. Of course, now that I mention this, I'm sure someone will gut their team soon and make a liar out of me. Either way, no gutting for this guy unless I die or my wife threatens to leave me.

A lot of people don't have the patience and effort needed to rebuild a team. I'm surprised more "losing" teams aren't getting dropped. Your team is improving, so that makes it easier to keep people motivated. Teams that are getting worse will have trouble.

I like your team to win 5 games this year- REDBOSOX. Maybe more.

I have told our players that as long as we improve year after year, that's all that matters. Remember, the Steelers were a losing dynasty for the most part from 1933-1971. In 1972 they finally had a good season. In the 1974 season, they went on to win their first Super Bowl. The rest, you guys know. THAT'S how you build a team. You build it for the long haul. The hardest part is trying to keep your players when they get their own team. That's been VERY challenging.
