but combo (balanced) backs aren't too good right now...

Go elusive or power, don't take the middle ground of combo as ssainst4eversaid.
Althoughe elusive means elusive, not speed, so try and make sure your agility is at least as high as your speed, works better IMO, especially with the changes making agility more important in season 4.

power back

I think power backs will have the most long term success because the defensive secondary will never have the strength to match a true power back.

We will always have speed DEs, LBs, and the entire secondary which will be able to match an elusive back on speed/agility so their yards will be a lot more difficult to come by.
