So, with the next season having the potential for the "friendlies," we could almost setup a nice little Alpha vs Zeta tourney to settle the question once and for all, or, at the very least, provide some good fodder for forum threads.

Thoughts?

The first idea I had was to wait until week 8 was complete, then schedule a friendly against the team from the opposite conference that has the same ranking as you. Then, we do that again after week 15 and before the week 16 interconference showdowns. Of course, all of that hinges upon the process they put in place for the scheduling, and whether we even see this implemented in Season 4.

See....now this I don't get. Why the fuck would you want to pay to play against the other conference, when we have perfectly good (and free) scrimmage games to do just that? The scrimmage games are even organized fairly well to keep the competition going (bottom 4 play bottom 4, 9-12 play each other, each rounds losers play each other....all equal competition). If we want to have a conference competition then we need to have people take the damn scrimmage games seriously.

If I'm Corey, I wouldn't waste a damn cent playing a team in this league when we play them for free anyway. Friendlies need to be used for inter-league play.

+1, though a simple "I disagree" might have done the trick.

Subtlety is not one of my strong points.

Yeah, that thread is pretty much bullshit - listing FTA and Reykjavík Aggies but not Valhalla?

Guess we're going to have to do it again.

He did mention that playoff performance played a role in choosing. The end of the Vikings season may have had an affect. While, I do think it seems like a bit of a slight against Valhalla, I think it's splitting hairs between FTA and Valhalla. Both would be good reps from WEPL.

That said, I haven't been following the ranking bullshit, but it looks like it's just been a bunch of pissing and moaning. Not really sure how we got on that list either.

Well, lets be honest here, between WuJacks boosting the night before our game, the excellent game planning that you can expect from Wujacks, and getting absolutely fucked by the sim, we had no chance to win that game. It's the first time in 3 seasons that we were beaten by 2 TD's or more, and holding that game as standard for the Vikings will cost you in Season 4.

Cost who?

You got the people who created the rankings, who will never come into contact with Valhalla. Or you have the rest of the WEPL, who know just what kind of team you have there.

Simmer down. If you really want the opportunity to prove it to the rest of GLB, I bet enough teams will decline to participate in this tournament that Valhalla will get the chance to sign on and do well.

Bitching to the folks that like you and respect your team doesn't accomplish a whole heck of a lot.
