Does anybody know if you focus a DE on passing, does this mean he gets a bonus to the actual pass rushing and recognizing the pass play and rushing up field or if this mean he is more likely to drop back quickly in zone.

If not, does putting them on run focus make it more likely that the DE is just going to try getting up the field and make them a better pass rusher. I figured I would get others input.

As I understand it, the focus is a strict bonus when the offense passes and a penalty when they run it. It has nothing to do with what your DE does on the play, though it does influence how well he does it.

So, to improve pass pressure, you would want a pass focus. A run focus would penalize your pass pressure.

That's kinda what I thought. I just wasn't quite sure if that made him more likely to drop into pass coverage for zone. I know that has a lot to do with the plays that are called.

It's a bonus to reading the plays. Pretty much does nothing for anyone not in the secondary.

Its most likey a small vision buff or penalty.
Not really worth it to tweak, you'll want your vision on running plays maybe even more then on passrushing downs.
