For a multitude of reasons, the Rome Gladiators will be closing up shop this off season. I wasn't going to say anything, but it's not like you all wouldn't have figured it out anyway when all the players became free agents at the end of the season. And no, this has nothing to do with an 8-8 season, but I'm sure many of you will think that and I understand why you would. As a poker player, I am quite used to dealing with defeat. The main reasons are time (I'm losing 3-4 players per offseason and I don't have the time to recruit replacements, in addition I need to start spending more time playing poker rather than this) and money (I want to cut back on the number of players I have, I can afford the flex points but really it's gotten to the point of silliness right now). The last, small reason... this league just isn't what it used to be and I don't really enjoy playing in it any longer. I'd rather focus my time and energy on my Vegas team and the league they are in.

I wish you all the best and if there's ever a Champion's league maybe we'll meet up again some other time and place with my Vegas team.

wow thats too bad. they are our biggest rival, well besides the cajuns. oh well, we all ar at a loss for this. two top teams down the drain. too bad, i guess we will have to wait til season 5 when four more top teams come from trip A.

Can't remember if you were one of the people in AA#3 when we dropped from two teams to 1 that criticized us. Either way, you'll find things a lot more enjoyable with one less team. It opens up that much more time to focus in on what you're doing, while not feeling like you're forced to be here.

We may have a couple spots here in Sheboygan at the end of the season. I know a few of you are pretty good guys. So send us a heads up.

I'm sure we can find vital roles on the Minsk squad for any Rome players that want to stick around EE Pro.

I could have sold it off to a GM but with 10 players already leaving (4 from an inactive agent who vanished) and then my players leaving it would be a depleted squad (about 20 players total). I gave the team plenty of notice on this and gave them all end of season contracts. Some of them will be going to Vegas to replace my players, but many of them will be pursuing new teams so I am sure they will listen to your offers.

Like I said, was a fun three seasons. Best of luck to ya'll.
