I don't think Bort's vision of the future of GLB includes lvl 25s in BBB leagues. He's talked about sportsmanship bonuses and even considered dropping gutted teams down and moving others up.

It would be great to win and earn your way up to A then AA then AAA etc etc, but it's going to take a long time to clean out all the good teams from the BBBs.

I wouldn't mind being moved to a different set of leagues. Would you guys rather stay in the uphill struggle that is the USA BBBs? What if the sportsmanship bonuses eventually start to act like a penalty for us?

I'm not saying penalties are going to happen. However, I've read Borts posts and the way I understand them is he wants to have the average level act as a deterrent for high level talent in lower leagues. We keep seeing teams gut. Every team that guts and isn't able to bring in high level talent brings down our average level. If our average level continues to drop we aren't going to be able to bring in higher level talent to compete. Therefore creating more frustration and gutting which only leads to a lower average level and perpetuating the problem.

Am I wrong?

I don't think you understand what Bort has proposed. He has only proposed when you *sign* players they get or lose those bonuses. Players already on the teams are fine. Also, the gutted teams are rebuilt- look at Goshen. They won't lower the average much. People are going to lose interest in owning teams. I think we'll see constant turnover here. There are also plans to send all new teams down levels, which I think would help solve this problem. If this happens, we would move most of our teams up, and it would balance out.

Plus, we'll level up much slower now that most of our players are hitting 20+. The gap won't be as wide.

I don't think it will affect us much. Even the most advanced players in the game are barely higher than our players.

It sucks being in such a great conference. Many of or mid ranked teams would be top dogs in other leagues. Seems like all the good teams chose BBB #16.

I totally understand it. It was one of my points I thought haha.

Goshen has done a great job. They're going to be competitive next year, but they do bring down our average level. They are also the exception rather than the norm.

Also think about what we're going to lose this season versus what is comming down to us next season...

It's a given that our average level will in fact drop some. Will it drop enough to the point were we won't be able to get good help?

Tom pretty much hit it on the head. I would rather try and beat you guys than get switched to Canada and go 19-0 because I am 6 or 7 levels higher.

The only reason I would want to stay is because there probably won't be a tomcollins doing cool write ups after each game in another league.

I think the BBB#16 is the best league I've had the pleasure of playing in. For two seasons we've had a nasty group of teams pummeling each other, and there really hasn't been the acrimony (other than the 'disagreement' last year) in this league that I've seen in others.

1 team out of 32 isn't going to lower things that much. The bottom tier of any system is going to have some trouble because the teams coming down will almost always be awful (New Jersey- I don't know they came down so strong).

There is a huge logjam in trying to get up, so that will keep it down. I don't think the league average will drop from year to year, just because people usually gain several levels per year, and the gutted teams are usually refilled with some talent. There will be a lot more high level players in the next few years. However, the teams that are boosting and started when BBB #16 started will be rising faster than the league average.

The game is going to change significantly in the future, especially when players decline. Teams that don't have replacement plans are going to suffer, and I think it will be very difficult to tell apart the players from the pro teams and various other under-leagues. I think there needs to be some work done to encourage players to play up as high as they can, but right now, there really is no incentive to do so.

Maybe more than one team should be moving up/down each season, at least for a while. Wouldn't that help with some of the unbalance that is out there?

I think if Bort implements his plan to drop gutted teams down it will help clear up the logjam. I think he even wants to reset their stadiums and cash too. I'm not too sure about that since it would put a team in a cash crunch. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the game though. Hopefully the new tactics will keep it interesting.

what if every division had a lvl cap? Then as you move up in a league, the cap increases?
This caps would have to be modified (raised) every season for the first 10 seasons of GLB, due to the fact that no player in this game is still anywhere close to their maximum potential.

Next season, the caps would be like this:
USA Pro (45)
USA AAA (40)
USA AA (30)
USA A (25)
USA BBB (20)

In another maybe 10-15 seasons, the caps would be like this:
USA Pro (100)
USA AAA (80)
USA AA (65)
USA A (50)
USA BBB (30)
D leagues (20)

This is a rough estimation, and by that time, there will be a whole lot more leagues.
This would be my ideal solution for a game that I hope flourishes for many more years to come.
But by then, there will be player ranging from lvl 100 to lvl 1. We need a way to control that lopsidedness.

I couldn't agree more. It will become VERY interesting when players start to decline. I need to work on replacement plans myself. I do know that when you retire a player you get 70% of your flex points back. It'll suck to have to start at Level 1 again. I can't afford to have another 14 players going at the same time as my first 14. Other players on my team might be able to do it. If all else fails, we can start from the bottom and work our way up again. It'll also come down to how long you want to hang onto your declining players, along with how fast they decline. Perhaps you can squeeze 13/14 seasons out of a player. Yeah, this is one topic that will be HUGE in about 9 months from now.

There's no cash crunch if you have low level players.
