Reviewing the selections, with commentary :
Quarterbacks
- Robert Starr, New York Strikers - 8 votes
- H. Bubba Cannon, Miami Makos - 3 votes
- Donnie Norris, NBSK - 1 vote
An amazing season by an measurement from Robert Starr made this an easy selection. Starr picked up over 70% of the votes and never was seriously challenged, much like his NY team. He won League Leader awards for most passing yards (3923) and most passing TD's (34), and finished the regular season with a passer rating of 90.6
Halfbacks
- Morris Fallon, New Brunswick Scarlet Knights - 7 votes
- Ox Smersh, New Brunswick Scarlet Knights - 4 votes
- Smokie McPot, New Hampshire Hustlers - 1 vote
What does it say about a team when you have 2 HB's dominating the votes? Morris Fallon takes the title with more than 60% of the votes, but Ox collected over 35% himself. The voting played out very similar to the regular season, where Morris beat Ox in rushing yards (1815 vs 1739) and rushing TD's (30 vs 27). The good news for the rest of the league is that both players should be terrorizing A8 next season, and maybe some of our DC's can sleep easier.
Fullbacks
- Cedric Haymans, New York Strikers - 6 votes
- David Diggler, NBSK - 5 votes
- Twoday Beard, Miami Makos - 1 vote
In the closest All Star voting race, Haymans barely edged Diggler by 1 vote. Some voters were obviously swayed by Haymans superior offensive stats (320 yards rushing, 8 TD vs 109 yards 2 TD's from Diggler), while other voters valued how Diggler contributed to the success of others (41 pancakes vs 15 from Haymans). Regardless of the outcome, both players earned a nod of respect from opposing teams
Wide Receiver
- Yoda Skywalker, Akron Browns - 12 votes
- Richard Hawthorne, Miami Makos - 8 votes
- Din Blades, NBSK - 3 votes
- Amon Amarth, Vice City Mambas - 1 vote
Skywalker has become the deep threat that every teams craves. His 1704 yards receiving was almost 500 yards more than his closest competition, and his 18 TD's also were tops in the league. Hawthorne was just as explosive, and actually beat Skywalker on yards per catch (14.4 vs 13.4), but didn't see as much action with almost 50 fewer receptions.
Tight Ends
- Jason In Flames, Vice City Mambas - 6 votes
- Michael Cameron, New York Strikers - 4 votes
- Heath Miller, Scranton Wilkes-Barre Menzingers - 2 votes
In another close race, Jason In Flames edged Michael Cameron with 54% of the votes to Cameron's 36%. Both players had excellent statistical seasons, but voters went with Jason - 78 catches, 821 yards, 10.5 YPC and 4 TD's over Cameron - 77 catches, 776 yards, 10.1 YPC and 7 TD's
Centers
- Dave Langlois, Atlanta Wolves - 5 votes
- Jon Harris, New York Strikers - 4 votes
- Jethro Bodine, Gulf State Demons - 2 votes
- Flex Kavanah, Miami Makos - 1 vote
There were no wrong choices with these selections as the 4 players receiving votes anchored 4 of the top 5 running offenses in the east. Langlois led all centers with 111 pancakes; John Harris was next in line among centers with 97
Guards
- Milt Theodosatos, New Brunswick Scarlet Knights - 12 votes
- Wall Ostone, New Hampshire Hustlers - 6 votes
- Justin McBride, New Hampshire Hustlers - 3 votes
- Dirk Digler, Atlatna Wolves - 3 votes
Theodosatos tied Yoda Skywalker for most votes received (12), and it's no surprise. Milt terrorized opposing teams with 179 pancakes this season, tops in all of BBB15. League experts are checking to see if Waffle House serves as many pancakes in a month - preliminary results are doubtful. Wall Ostone had his own flapjack fest with 142, second only to Milt for league leader in pancakes among eastern teams
Tackles
- James Wren, Salem Cyber Hawks - 9 votes
- Big Easy, Atlanta Wolves - 8 votes
- Bricked Wall, Akron Browns - 6 votes
- Leftus Taklus, Miami Hammerheads - 1 vote
James Wren and Big Easy led all eastern tackles in number of pancakes with 125 for Wren and 138 for Easy. The Salem and Atlanta QB's can sleep easy at night knowing those monsters are guarding their blind side.
