I was hoping whatsdafus would come back and give us some predictions. I guess that ain't going to happen. My scores weren't that close for the first round, but I'll give it a try again.
Western Conference
Eugene SLUGs at Honolulu Beach Boys
The Slugs kept the tradition alive and upset the number 4 seed in the opening round. Their reward is to play the favorite from the West, congratulations. Last season, the Slugs pulled a huge upset of the eventually league champions. They will look to pull another upset in this game. The Slugs have been in many close games this season. Eight games have been decided by six points or less. Of their 5 losses, three were by 6, 6, and 4 points. All of their losses came against playoff teams. The Beach Boys have had an easier time. Their closest game was 14 points. Only 4 teams have come within 20 points of them. In their first meeting, Honolulu walked away with a 36-6 victory. Look for this game to be closer. The Slugs will give a good fight, but the Beach Boys will stomp harder.

Tana River Ewoks at Timpanogos Thunder
This game has some of the most history in the short time the league has been together. In the first season, Timpanogos defeated Tana River to claim the 4th seed. Tana River then returned the favor in the playoffs to advance to the second round. This season, once again Thunder defeated the Ewoks to claim the higher seed. Now the Ewoks must once again travel to the Thunder Dome to try and pull another upset over the Thunder in the playoffs. This is developing into one of the better rivalries in the league. Timpanogos has had a very solid season. Somehow they have mainly stayed under most people's radar. They are lead by the sharp shooting QB, Carpet Bomber. They also rely on a stingy defense that has posted 6 shutouts. Only 3 teams have scored more than 10 points on them, all three also made the playoffs. The Ewoks strength is also their defense. They have posted 5 shutouts. Only 3 teams have scored more than 10 on them, the Plague did it twice. These teams also finished #1 and #2 rushing in the league. Last season, both games were a big defensive struggle. The first game this season was a surprise as the offenses stole the show. Thunder won 37-21. Look for another tight match-up. The teams match up very well with each other. Many have the Thunder as their favorite. Look for the Ewoks to shook them as they send the Thunder packing from the playoffs once again.

Saint Paul Vulcans at Tecmo All Stars
The Vulcans ruined everything. The 5th seed has beaten the 4th seed in both games the first season and in the West this season. I guess they didn't get the memo. On to the task at hand. They now get to take on the league favorite, Tecmo. In their first meeting, Saint Paul failed to score as Tecmo won 27-0. This was only the Vulcan's second game in the league and they were still settling into their new home. Tecmo has drifted through the regular season. They have had some games closer than they had wished. They are happy to see the Vulcans beat the Saints. The Saints gave Tecmo their biggest challenge during the regular season. The All Stars have come on strong near the end of the season. They have also held 9 opponents to 0 points. I don't think they'll get 10 this game. Look for Tecmo's defense to clamp down on the Vulcans.

Awesomeville Bearphins at New Jersey Blaze
This is a tough game to call. The two played a great game during the season where the Blaze won 23-20. The Blaze have surprised many by claiming the 2nd seed in the East. They have had a tremendous season. Against teams still in the playoffs, they are 2-2. Their two wins against the other playoff teams still alive were both by 3 points. Awesomeville has also had a good season. They are disappointed they lost 3 games and had to settle for the 3rd seed. They had a difficult time getting by Hezbollah in the first round. This game could easily go either way. There is a good chance that whoever wins the turnover battle will win the game. Behind the arm of Awesome Lee, the Bearphins have an advantage.
