Coruscant (AP) -- In a thrilling matchup, the upstart Gotham City Punishers danced to the powerhouse Coruscant Deathstars tune, and came two plays away from a win.

Although the final score was 19-10, and was a two-possession ball game, both coaches were biting their nails until about the middle of the fourth quarter, when Fred Nubski put the game two drives out of Gotham's hands. The other vital play was the 22 yard catch by Dan Miller with seconds remaining in the game, a catch that Miller normally turns into points. "Dan [Gerringer] got me good, I caught the ball and saw the promised land, but he broke up the play." Earlier in the game, Miller took a 9 yard pass for a first down, and turned it into a 70 yard gain and 6 points.

The play in question started with Rico Dynamite dropping back deep, and threw a ball to Miller, which was slightly overthrown. Miller stretched to grab the ball, and by time he turned around to go for the endzone, Gerringer had a step up on him. "It was a great catch, but his jump gave me the time to put him to the turf, game over. They played a good game, but I can't wait to play Portland."

Some speculate that if the two plays were reverse, the Gotham City Punishers would have come away with the most stunning upset in USA BBB#6 history. Coach David Sack said "It was heartbreaking to lose in the playoffs, but we made so much progress this year, and we're still on the rise. Watch out for us in Season 4."

The Coruscant passing game was sub-par, with Michael Vick Jr. completing 62%, with a single pick, and only 189 yards, averaging about 6 yards per completion, and a frustrating 3.8 yards per attempt. The Deathstar offense this game was fueled by a solid running game, wracking up 119 yards, with 4.4 yards per carry. While Mark Strong's 'strong' running game gathered the most yards of the squad, it was Sam McGuffie's goal-line leap that ultimately put the game out of Coruscant's hands.

Gotham's season is over, but Coruscant's next opponent is the Portland Aftershocks, a loaded team that contended tooth and nail with Coruscant earlier this season, and ultimately earned the 3rd seed in the west.
