Well I haven't been at home much this weekend and am going to use that as the reason for the lack of predictions the last two games. Here are some playoff predictions and analysis though, good luck everyone.
#1 Honolulu Warriors vs #8 Scranton Tunas
Saw a preview of this match up a few weeks ago as Honolulu won 19-10. The Tunas proved they could put up a fight though as they entered the 4th quarter with a 10-9 lead and kept it close despite 6 interceptions and a fumble lost. Even given the prior performance, I think that Honolulu should win this one easily. The pressure by the defensive line will be enough to keep Scranton's offense off balance and the offense will do enough to win the game.
Honolulu 23 Scranton 9
#2 Hollywood Stars vs #7 Kansas City Wiz
Could we have gotten a better first round game than this one? Kansas City knocked the Stars our of the playoffs last season in the first round and could very well have the opportunity to do it again. Hollywood won the regular season game and will only get better now that their team is completely boosted. Don't look for lightning to strike twice for the Wiz.
Hollywood 27 Kansas City 13
#3 Omaha Shockers vs #6 South Texas Thunder
This game will come down to two very tough defenses. Omaha won the regular season game 13-12 with a 4th quarter FG. Not a lot of offense in that game and this one looks to be much the same. South Texas will certainly have a cohesive game plan and if they learned from the first game I think that gives them an advantage in this game along with their depth.
South Texas 16 Omaha 12
#4 Cary Carpetbaggers vs #5 Houston Outlaws
Cary absolutely demolished the Outlaws earlier this season and are firing on all cylinders as perhaps the hottest team in the West outside of Honolulu. Houston has the high level players to hang with anyone, but you have to wonder about their gameplanning in some of the losses they have. I think this one will be a lot closer than the first meeting, but that Cary will still advance to the 2nd round.
Cary 20 Houston 13
Looks like some pretty good games, good luck to all the teams still alive.
