Detriot Nasty Vs Chicago Mustangs
The rivalry between the Chicago Mustangs and the Detroit Nasty is something more then a game. It’s something more then just a W in a column and It’s something more then bragging rights. The rivalry is all about pride. Some may say the rivalry is nothing other then just a game. Others would disagree.
Some that don’t know the true rivalry would say it’s just a game because they don’t know the true history behind it. Mustangs Vs Nasty is the longest living rivalry in the game. Not 3 season, not 3, but 4. You may ask, how is that possible? It was the Alpha Season. Both teams would possibly be the two most dominating teams in Alpha.
History
The Alpha Season was ruled by 6 teams. Chicago Mustangs, Detriot Nasty, Silverymoon Elves, Minnesota Marauders, Kailua Dagger, and the Kentucky Wildcats. However, since day 1 the rivalry between Mustangs and Nasty started to slowly brew.
The Detriot Nasty were destroying teams with GLB’s first Superstar Julius Brown. Julius was incredible getting atleast 300 years a game on the ground every game. He dominated teams and the game was changed the next season because of what he could do. The Mustangs were a different kind of team though they aired it out. Long. Led by there QB Andrew Vick the Mustangs had a receiving core that was quite possibly the best.
In a game that everyone was looking forward to, the Nasty escaped by 7 which was the closest game for the Nasty up to that point. In the Playoffs the ended up beating the Mustangs in the Conference finals and went on to beat the Elves in the Finals to win the Championship on an undefeated Season.

“Going all the way back to Alpha, the Nasty and Mustangs have always been 2 of the top teams in the top league in the game. Any time 2 teams of that caliber face off, it's going to be a big match.”
-Jed Alpha Tester Owner of the Philadelphia Pushovers
“The level of the teams, the visibility of the players, the fact that both teams have won the US Pro championship all make this a great matchup.”
-Jed Alpha Tester Owner of the Philadelphia Pushovers
“These two teams are always near the top of the rankings and both coaches are strategic geniuses. Usually this game is a much better game than the Bort Bowl, even without a trophy on the line.”
-Justafish Alpha Tester Owner of the Kentucky Wildcats
“You know what's crazy? Since the inception of GLB these two teams have been major contenders for the games biggest prize, the Bort Trophy. There have been other names in contention, and at times these teams have been overlooked, but come playoff time nobody wants to take the field against them, because they are proven. Even if a W or an L doesn't make or break either team, the game between the two means something... even if it's only internal bragging rights, because if you get the W, you know you have done something against a great opponent.”
-hud Alpha Tester Owner of the San Antonio Saints
"The Nasty and Mustangs have been premier teams since the early days of GLB. It will always be a great battle when these two teams meet; you never know who will win!"
