Based on the idea that agility is going to become a larger factor in acceleration whereas speed will be more of a stat for top speed (atleast that's what I gathered from reading), will we really need to focus on speed anymore? It feels like other than running downfield, speed kind of becomes not very important whereas agility takes a much more prominent place in stopping speed rushing DEs. Any thoughts?

i'd think that, to some degree at least, speed will impact your agility skill, just like agility impacts your speed skill. so, yes, i do still think it has decent value

From what I've read, speed should still be your top speed. Agility will now have a greater effect on how fast you reach that top speed.
